We are working with a leading global financial and corporate advisory firm specialising in the structuring and execution of complex transactions across infrastructure, energy, renewables and public-private partnerships.

The business advises governments, public sector organisations, developers, investors, financial institutions and other stakeholders across a broad range of international markets. Its sector experience includes renewable energy, conventional power, transport, water, waste, social infrastructure, real estate, ICT, metals and mining, and emerging sectors such as green hydrogen.

The organisation has extensive experience working alongside multilateral and bilateral financial institutions, Export Credit Agencies, commercial banks, governments and private sector investors across Europe, Asia, the Middle East, Africa and the Americas.

The business is now seeking an Associate to join its Finance and Corporate Advisory team in Dublin. This is an opportunity for an ambitious finance professional to gain exposure to complex international infrastructure and project finance transactions, working closely with senior advisers, clients, lenders, developers and other project stakeholders.

The Role
We are seeking an Associate to support the delivery of financial and corporate advisory mandates across infrastructure, energy and other complex investment projects.

The successful candidate will be involved across the transaction lifecycle, including financial modelling, investment analysis, due diligence, project finance analysis, client interaction, transaction execution and business development.

This role would suit an early-career finance professional with strong technical modelling capabilities who is looking to develop their experience across international infrastructure and project finance transactions within a highly analytical and client-facing environment.

Key Responsibilities

Transaction Delivery & Financial Analysis
  • Support the delivery of financial and corporate advisory assignments under the guidance of senior team members
  • Develop and maintain complex financial models for infrastructure, energy and project finance transactions
  • Analyse key business and project drivers and undertake detailed scenario and sensitivity analysis
  • Assess the commercial and contractual implications of project documentation, particularly in relation to project financing
  • Support financial due diligence, business valuations and investment analysis
  • Analyse project economics and financial performance to support investment and financing decisions
  • Ensure financial models and analysis are consistent with relevant project documentation and applicable accounting and taxation principles
  • Prepare high-quality reports, information memoranda, presentations and transaction materials

Project Finance & Transaction Execution
  • Support transaction teams throughout the development and execution of infrastructure and project finance mandates
  • Work closely with clients and project stakeholders to gather information and develop appropriate financial solutions
  • Coordinate with working-level client teams, off-takers, lenders, developers and other transaction stakeholders
  • Support the assessment and structuring of financing solutions
  • Participate in negotiations relating to commercial and contractual aspects of transactions under the guidance of senior team members
  • Support the coordination of transaction workstreams and ensure deliverables are completed accurately and on time
  • Develop an understanding of project finance structures, contractual arrangements and lender requirements

Client & Stakeholder Engagement
  • Interact with client teams to understand requirements, priorities and transaction objectives
  • Support the development of solutions to address client requirements
  • Engage with financial institutions, developers, investors, government entities and other project stakeholders
  • Build an understanding of client businesses, markets and transaction requirements
  • Support senior team members in client meetings, negotiations and transaction discussions

Market Analysis & Business Development
  • Conduct research and analysis across sectors, geographies, clients and competitors
  • Identify potential business development opportunities through market and sector analysis
  • Support the preparation of proposals and responses to potential client mandates
  • Develop sector and market knowledge across infrastructure, energy and related investment markets

Experience and Background

Essential
  • Master's degree in Finance, Economics, Business or a related discipline
  • Strong financial modelling and quantitative analysis skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • Understanding of financial analysis, valuation and investment concepts
  • Ability to undertake scenario and sensitivity analysis within complex financial models
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to produce high-quality reports, presentations and financial analysis
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and quality of deliverables
  • Ability to work effectively within multicultural and multidisciplinary teams
  • Willingness to work across complex transactions and manage multiple priorities

Desirable
  • 1–3 years' relevant professional experience, although strong recent postgraduates may also be considered
  • Experience within investment banking, financial advisory, infrastructure funds, developers, investors or similar financial institutions
  • Previous experience within infrastructure, project finance, energy or renewable energy
  • CFA progress or completion
  • Exposure to Public-Private Partnership (PPP) transactions
  • Experience working with international clients, lenders, developers or government stakeholders
  • Additional language capabilities relevant to the firm's international markets
