The Opportunity

LSP’s client is an industry-leading contractor within the Transmission & Renewables sector. They specialize in the design, construction, and commissioning of critical energy infrastructure, including high-voltage assets up to 400kV.
We are seeking a seasoned Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their regional team. This role is perfect for a proactive commercial professional who enjoys being "at the heart of the action," providing essential commercial oversight to ensure the reliable delivery of the UK’s electricity network.

Your Impact?

In this role, you will be instrumental in the financial success of large-scale infrastructure contracts. You will work as a key partner to project managers and engineers to drive value and mitigate risk.

  • Full Lifecycle Management: Oversee all commercial aspects of multiple infrastructure projects, from initial inception through to the settlement of final accounts.

  • NEC4 Administration: Act as the lead administrator for NEC4 Engineering and Construction Contracts (ECC), expertly handling Early Warnings, Compensation Events, and payment applications.

  • Financial Control: Implement robust cost-control measures, produce accurate CVRs, and provide detailed financial forecasting to senior management.

  • Risk & Opportunity: Proactively identify and assess commercial risks, ensuring the business is protected while maximizing recovery opportunities.

  • Supply Chain Management: Lead the procurement and commercial administration of subcontractors, ensuring high performance and contractual compliance.

  • Stakeholder Relations: Build collaborative, professional relationships with blue-chip clients, consultants, and internal delivery teams.

  • Mentorship: Act as a senior figure within the commercial department, potentially guiding and developing junior team members.

What You Bring?

  • Experience: Substantial background as a Quantity Surveyor within a major project environment.

  • Contractual Expertise: In-depth, practical knowledge of managing contracts under the NEC3 or NEC4 suites.

  • Commercial Acumen: Strong negotiation skills and a solutions-driven mindset.

  • Sector Knowledge (Desirable): Previous experience within Substations, High-Voltage Power, or Heavy Civils is preferred but not essential.

  • Mobility: A full UK driving licence is required, with the flexibility to attend project sites at least 3 days per week.

The Rewards?

Our client provides a comprehensive benefits package designed to support a long-term career and healthy work-life balance:

  • Mobility: Company car or car allowance plus a fuel card for business travel.

  • Health: Private healthcare and a dedicated healthcare cash plan.

  • Future Security: Matched or contributory pension scheme and Life Assurance.

  • Work-Life Balance: 25 days annual leave (plus bank holidays).

  • Family Support: Enhanced maternity, paternity, and adoption leave policies.
