The Role

LSP Renewables are supporting an industry leader providing end-to-end solutions across electricity transmission, distribution, and renewable energy. They are a key player in the UK’s journey toward a decarbonized grid, specializing in the design and construction of high-voltage overhead lines (OHL) and substations up to 400kV.

We are seeking an Estimator to join their pre-construction team. This role sits at the heart of the UK’s energy transition, working on a mix of landmark new-build schemes and critical infrastructure upgrades designed to ensure the reliable delivery of electricity nationwide.

Your Duties

Working within a collaborative pre-contract environment, you will bridge the gap between design and delivery to produce high-quality, competitive tenders.

  • Bid Leadership: Support the Bid Manager with project kick-offs and the development of structured bid programmes.

  • Commercial Strategy: Collaborate with procurement and commercial departments to identify project scope and mitigate potential risks.

  • Supply Chain Management: Analyze and benchmark supply chain quotations to ensure value for money and technical compliance.

  • Pricing Excellence: Prepare detailed tender prices in Excel for senior management review and assist in the creation of professional client pricing documentation.

  • Solution Optimization: Understand and challenge engineering solutions to find the most efficient delivery methods.

  • Post-Submission Support: Assist the team with client presentations and maintain strong professional relationships throughout the tender lifecycle.

What You’ll Bring

  • Experience: Proven background in Major Infrastructure projects (essential).

  • Technical Knowledge: Previous experience estimating for High-Voltage Overhead Lines (OHL) is highly preferred.

  • Analytical Skills: The ability to interpret engineering specifications, drawings, and basic contractual terminology.

  • Software Proficiency: Confident with Excel (experience with Candy/CCS software is a plus for future requirements).

  • Attributes: A methodical, pro-active approach with the ability to meet strict deadlines in a high-pressure environment.

  • Flexibility: Willingness to adapt working hours to meet project-specific tender deadlines.

The Rewards

Our client offers a robust benefits package that prioritizes long-term career growth and employee well-being:

  • Mobility: Company car and fuel card, featuring a wide selection of EV and Hybrid vehicles.

  • Financial: Competitive salary, discretionary bonus scheme, and matched/contributory pension.

  • Health & Wellness: Private healthcare, health cash plan, 24/7 Virtual GP, and an Employee Assistance Programme.

  • Work-Life Balance: 25 days annual leave (+ Bank Holidays) and enhanced family leave (Maternity/Paternity/Adoption).

  • Added Benefits: Life assurance, Cycle to Work, salary finance, and "Give as You Earn" schemes.
