Estimator (Transmission/OHL)
The Role
LSP Renewables are supporting an industry leader providing end-to-end solutions across electricity transmission, distribution, and renewable energy. They are a key player in the UK’s journey toward a decarbonized grid, specializing in the design and construction of high-voltage overhead lines (OHL) and substations up to 400kV.
We are seeking an Estimator to join their pre-construction team. This role sits at the heart of the UK’s energy transition, working on a mix of landmark new-build schemes and critical infrastructure upgrades designed to ensure the reliable delivery of electricity nationwide.
Your Duties
Working within a collaborative pre-contract environment, you will bridge the gap between design and delivery to produce high-quality, competitive tenders.

Bid Leadership: Support the Bid Manager with project kick-offs and the development of structured bid programmes.

Commercial Strategy: Collaborate with procurement and commercial departments to identify project scope and mitigate potential risks.

Supply Chain Management: Analyze and benchmark supply chain quotations to ensure value for money and technical compliance.

Pricing Excellence: Prepare detailed tender prices in Excel for senior management review and assist in the creation of professional client pricing documentation.

Solution Optimization: Understand and challenge engineering solutions to find the most efficient delivery methods.

Post-Submission Support: Assist the team with client presentations and maintain strong professional relationships throughout the tender lifecycle.
What You’ll Bring

Experience: Proven background in Major Infrastructure projects (essential).

Technical Knowledge: Previous experience estimating for High-Voltage Overhead Lines (OHL) is highly preferred.

Analytical Skills: The ability to interpret engineering specifications, drawings, and basic contractual terminology.

Software Proficiency: Confident with Excel (experience with Candy/CCS software is a plus for future requirements).

Attributes: A methodical, pro-active approach with the ability to meet strict deadlines in a high-pressure environment.

Flexibility: Willingness to adapt working hours to meet project-specific tender deadlines.
