Assistant Project Manager - Cables
The Assistant Project Manager - Cables will be part of the Package Management team, reporting to the Package Manager for Export Cables. The role involves supporting both Inter-Array Cable (IAC) and Export Cable package development. The position is based in London with the possibility of Hybrid working
Main Responsibilities:
The Assistant Project Manager - Cables will be part of the Package Management team, reporting to the Package Manager for Export Cables. The role involves supporting both Inter-Array Cable (IAC) and Export Cable package development. The position is based in London with the possibility of Hybrid working
Main Responsibilities:
- Technical Facilitation: Resolve topics related to offshore cable design, procurement, and execution.
- Documentation: Prepare technical papers, Employer’s Requirements, and technical specifications.
- Subconsultant Management: Oversee subconsultants ensuring HSSE and quality requirements are met.
- Design Review: Critique FEED/Early Works scopes and support detailed design/installation phases.
- Interfaces: Manage cross-disciplinary interfaces including cable installation, thermal ratings analysis, and electrical systems.
- Procurement: Support procurement activities for the supply and installation of cables.
- Commercial Support: Contribute to the project cost book and evaluate tenders with a focus on technical and commercial awareness.
- Minimum Requirements:
- Education: Degree in Engineering or a related field; Chartered status (or working towards it).
- Experience: Minimum 5 years in offshore cable design and installation.
- Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with relevant industry codes and standards.
- Soft Skills: Excellent organisation, communication, and relationship management skills; ability to work proactively in an integrated JV team.
- Specific Role Competencies:
- Experience in Cable Burial Risk Assessment (CBRA), cable protection, burial, routing, and HDD installation.
- Understanding of cable thermal ratings and their impact on overall design.
- Knowledge of the full project lifecycle from pre-FEED to commissioning.
