Seaway7 has signed an agreement with PGE and Orsted for the transportation and installation of offshore transformer stations for the Baltica 2 offshore wind project off Poland.

Seaway7 will use both heavy lift and heavy transportation vessels to carry out the transportation and installation of the offshore substations.

Work is scheduled to begin in 2026.

The four offshore substations will be designed, built, and commissioned by the Semco/PTSC consortium.

PGE and Orsted have already contracted all the necessary components for the Baltica 2 offshore wind farm and have signed all the contracts for their installation the partners have also selected a general contractor for the onshore connection infrastructure.

They already obtained all the necessary building permits.

The last step before construction begins will be for the investors to make the final investment decision (FID).

Baltica 2 is one of two stages of the Baltica Offshore Wind Farm next to Baltica 3.

PGE and Orsted plan to deliver Baltica 2 of 1.5GW capacity by the end of 2027 and Baltica 3 of 1GW capacity by 2030.

The project is subject to final investment decision.

Baltica 2 and Baltica 3 will create the Baltica Offshore Wind Farm of 2.5GW total capacity.

Witnessing any activities (as required by the ITP) performed during the termination & testing of the Array Cables. Attend and where relevant chair daily and weekly meetings (both internally and with the Contractor) attended by the Array Cable Package Management Team. Raising alerts to any perceived trends relating to HSE risks or transgressions developing onshore as they arise. Promptly identify and notify on any construction issue that may arise or have the potential to arise during the works and shall aid in resolving any issues where applicable. Provide input to the Array Cable Package Manager’s weekly and monthly report e.g. progress, programme and risks. Support the Array Cable Package Contract Manager on reporting of progress for Payment Applications/Certificates for milestone completion proof / confirmation and with valuation of Variation Orders and Claims. Ensure Contractor compliance with requirements when on site. Ensure Contractor complies with their own HSE plan. Review health and safety documents as required before execution phase commences and keep updated on changes in the documents. Attend daily meetings, toolbox talks and other discussions to ensure that the works are being carried out in a safe manner and to the required quality. Attend package / PC meetings as requested (via Teams). Monitor Contractor Safety Observations Cards (SOCs) during daily meetings and ensure they are recorded within the DPR. Highlight any of particular note or concern toward OSMT / HSE team. During all defined key activities and otherwise as often as practicable be present as a witness during termination & testing. Where PC HSE are unable to attend any asset, vessel or location carry out planned HS&E inspection(s) on their behalf. Participate in safety walks with health and safety representatives from the PC and Contractor organisations. Identify and report any safety-related observations on a day-to-day basis whilst performing primary duties. In the event of incident / accident take detailed notes, timeline, pictures and generally gather information to support investigation(s). NOTE – The Contractor will almost always lead on investigation, but it is helpful for PC to have its own information available.
