RWE WIN TWO GERMAN ONSHORE WIND AUCTION DEALS!

In the latest onshore wind auction in Germany, RWE have announced they secured two of the contracts that were up for grabs.
The company will build and operate another windfarm in North Rhine-Westphalia, and one in Schleswig-Holstein. Once commissioned in 2025, the 10 turbines will produce enough clean electricity to cover over 40,000 households in the surrounding areas.

The Aldenhoven windfarm will be developed where the Inden opencast mine once sat, with the total output of 34.2GW, the team at RWE will start building the path and setting up the construction site for six turbines to be installed.

RWE’s second site will be the six turbine Lasbek wind farm that is already located in the Hamburg metropolitan region. This is due to be dismantled and replaced with much more powerful machines, generated 22.8MW of green electricity.
Winter 2024/2025 has been marked as a new construction start date for Lasbek, with the old hardware remaining on the grid for as long as possible.

Another development secured for RWE is another significant addition to the global expansion targets!
