OUTSTANDING 4.2GW RECORD OF OFFSHORE WIND CELEBRATED ACROSS EUROPE

A record breaking 4200MW of offshore wind capacity has been brought online by Europe in 2023. This is a 40% increase on the 1.7GW installed in 2022, as published by WindEurope.

The Netherlands, France and the UK installed the most new capacity, including the 1.5GW Hollandse Kust Zuid project in the Netherlands.
Offshore wind investments in Europe have also reached a new record with a total of €30bn was raised across eight wind farm projects, which is enough to finance another 9GW of new offshore wind capacity.

After a fall in offshore wind investments and market uncertainty, it means that any projects who were postponed are now ready to move onwards.

Another fantastic achievement for the offshore wind industry, with many more to come.
