Mental Health Awareness week

From 11–17 May, Mental Health Awareness Week shines a spotlight on something that touches every part of our industry. Mental health.

At LSP Renewables, we see first-hand how varied the pressures can be across the sector. From engineers working offshore rotations to professionals navigating high-pressure deadlines in office environments, burnout does not discriminate. Whether you are on-site or behind a desk, early in your career or in leadership, mental wellbeing matters.

Our ongoing partnership with Mates in Mind
We are proud to continue our sponsorship of Mates in Mind, a charity doing vital work to improve mental health across workplaces, particularly in construction, infrastructure and energy sectors.
Their approach is practical, proactive and rooted in real industry challenges. Through training, awareness programmes and support tools, they help organisations create cultures where people feel able to speak openly and seek help when they need it.
This aligns closely with what we believe as a business. Supporting people should not stop at placing them into a role. It should continue throughout their career.

Signposting support across the workforce
As a recruitment partner across the renewables sector, we work with both white collar and blue collar professionals. That puts us in a unique position to help raise awareness and signpost support.
We want every candidate we work with to know that support is available. Whether you are experiencing stress, burnout or simply not feeling yourself, organisations like Mates in Mind are there to help.
Creating a healthier industry starts with normalising these conversations and making support visible.

Why this matters in renewables
The pace of the energy transition brings opportunity, but also pressure. Tight project timelines, skills shortages and evolving technologies can all contribute to increased stress levels.
Looking after mental health is not just the right thing to do for individuals. It is essential for building sustainable teams and delivering long-term success across the industry.

Continue the conversation
As part of our commitment to this topic, we have previously explored mental health in more depth on our podcast, featuring voices from across the sector sharing real experiences and insights: https://www.lsprenewables.com/podcasts/all-things-renewables-mental-health-in-renewables-prevention-awareness-and-culture-change/
