Greenvolt Group through Greenvolt Power, a company who specialise in wind and utility-scale solar PV and energy storage projects have won over 70% of battery storage capacity during Polish capacity auction held last year.
Greenvolt Group have secured future revenues of approximately €1.8bn for its 1.4GW portfolio of six battery storage projects, and a guarantee of 1.2 GW guaranteed under a long-term purchase contract, constituting the largest portfolio of Energy Storage Systems (BESS) ever approved in an auction in Poland.
The six battery storage projects will have flexibility to provide additional grid-related services and participate in arbitrage market opportunities.
Under these contracts, Greenvolt will inject energy that it has stored in its batteries into the Polish electricity grid in periods when the minimum power is not guaranteed.
