Category Lead

Our client is looking for a Category lead, responsible for leading strategic procurement operations within the aligned business area(s). The role will partner with the Category Manager in the delivery of Category strategies. This will involve engaging and building strong and established working relationships with stakeholders to identify business needs and then ensuring we understand the supply chains so we can offer the best solutions. Key Responsibilities Deliver multiple strategic sourcing events within portfolio, working with stakeholders to understand and challenge demand and ensure the best possible solutions. Input into the development and execution of sourcing strategy for allocated category and execute standardised strategic sourcing processes from market engagement through to award, ensuring goods / services are procured in a best-in-class manner that drives value. Work with Contract Managers to ensure the successful delivery of contracted activities, identifying continuous improvement opportunities through engagement with suppliers and stakeholders, and maximizing value for money from contracts awarded. Support the overall development and delivery of assigned category strategy and share best practice across other category teams (as appropriate). Role model excellence in procurement standards, taking a proactive role in mentoring / providing guidance to Buyers and Associate Buyers to ensure best-in-class methodologies are adopted and utilized across Procurement. Profile category characteristics and research supply markets, suppliers and assess trends, opportunities and risks feeding insights into the Global teams and Market and Supplier Development teams (as appropriate). Delivering value by effectively managing tender events for key products required by the business. Contribute to an effective forward planning process by identifying future requirements of supported areas and ensure robust forecasting is put in place that maximises value of goods / services procured. Scope and develops regional contractual agreements that meet the customer stakeholder requirements and expectations. Requirements Significant experience of strategic sourcing and category management An understanding of project management principles and ideally evidence of managing multiple projects and consistently delivering outstanding results. Ability to prepare for and to lead negotiations. Ability to build and manage complex commercial assessment models. Experience in EPC contract development, including the ability to make recommendations and amendments to existing contracts as well as drafting new ones. Experience managing key vendor relationships General knowledge of utility electrical system related to construction activities Ability to support large scale construction proposal development for competitive projects

Our client is looking for a 320KV SAP // 400KV SAP to join their team. Key Responsibilities Implementation of the Electrical Safety Rules on site, including the safe system of work Advise operationally on high voltage electrical installations to WTG, offshore substations and both HV submarine and onshore cables Oversee safe commissioning of grid connections, onshore substations and associated MV/HV/LV plant and equipment Oversee all MV/HV/LV electrical operational activities to ensure safety, security, and integrity of the HV network Contribute to proactive management, good coordination, and communication between all parties and that the process works effectively Coordinate MV/HV/LV commissioning activities through the project construction stages Tasks Ensure compliancy with and managing of Electrical Safety Rules Safety coordination in electrical matters Act as senior authorized person Carry out Switching Operations and Lock Out/ Tag out on LV and HV equipment Outage management and network control in collaboration with the Control Engineers Update MV/HV/LV schematic diagrams Inspect work sites and perform site safety inspections and auditing for electrical matters Coordinate with the Lead Commissioning Project Manager to ensure that accurate updates are distributed to the Project Management Manage and coordinate HV/MV/LV commissioning activities Coordinate with National Grid and attend commissioning panel meetings Prepare and check high voltage switching schedules Check method statements for electrical matters Implement and provide training programmes for relevant staff according to the rules Provide technical and engineering advice to working parties for electrical matters Assist different departments when required Attendance at FAT and SAT tests if required Deliverables Input to the project commissioning management manual and related documents (including pre-commissioning and commissioning quality plans) Participation in different audits Reports from FAT & SAT on the different high voltage equipments Onsite check of switching programs Participation in the planning of resource and work activities Participation in authorizations and assessments of new candidates Deliver inputs to the design phase of the project on technical aspects Decision Authority / Responsibility Say in relation to MV/HV switching and isolations Issue of Electrical Safety Rules safety rules documents Management of electrical safety to work onsite Requirements Appropriate electrical qualification and background related to the authorization scope. Several years of operation and commissioning experience within the field of high voltage electricity, offshore experience preferable Minimum 3 year of working experience within onshore substations systems Able to pass GWO and HUET with CA-EBS course (climbing gear person weight limit – 120kg/264lb). Course paid by our client, but will be deducted from final pay if contract is terminated by candidate/agency within 1 year
