Power Systems Engineer

Our client is looking for a Power Systems Engineer to support the delivery of a major renewable energy project.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and deliver complex power system studies across generation, transmission, distribution, renewable energy, energy storage, and industrial networks.
• Conduct power system modelling and model verification.
• Perform feasibility studies, including load flow and fault level assessments.
• Determine equipment performance specifications.
• Conduct Grid Code compliance studies.
• Carry out interconnection/impact studies.
• Perform Electromagnetic Transient (EMT) studies, including Insulation Coordination, Transient Recovery Voltage, Transient overvoltage, and lightning studies.
• Provide technical support to proposals, including modelling, simulations, results analysis, and reporting.
• Lead and contribute to client meetings, presentations, and technical discussions.
• Collaborate with team members in the UK and globally on studies in transmission, distribution, renewables, and industrial systems.

About You

• Minimum of a Degree or equivalent in electrical engineering; a Masters or PhD in a relevant field is preferred.
• Membership of a recognised professional institution/organisation, preferably at a Chartered level.
• Proficient in power system modelling and analysis using DIgSILENT, PSS/E, ETAP, and PSCAD software.
• Previous work experience in power systems, utility, and renewable projects.
• Ability to work independently.
