Our client is looking for a Power Systems Engineer to support the delivery of a major renewable energy project.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and deliver complex power system studies across generation, transmission, distribution, renewable energy, energy storage, and industrial networks.
- Conduct power system modelling and model verification.
- Perform feasibility studies, including load flow and fault level assessments.
- Determine equipment performance specifications.
- Conduct Grid Code compliance studies.
- Carry out interconnection/impact studies.
- Perform Electromagnetic Transient (EMT) studies, including Insulation Coordination, Transient Recovery Voltage, Transient overvoltage, and lightning studies.
- Provide technical support to proposals, including modelling, simulations, results analysis, and reporting.
- Lead and contribute to client meetings, presentations, and technical discussions.
- Collaborate with team members in the UK and globally on studies in transmission, distribution, renewables, and industrial systems.
About You
- Minimum of a Degree or equivalent in electrical engineering; a Masters or PhD in a relevant field is preferred.
- Membership of a recognised professional institution/organisation, preferably at a Chartered level.
- Proficient in power system modelling and analysis using DIgSILENT, PSS/E, ETAP, and PSCAD software.
- Previous work experience in power systems, utility, and renewable projects.
- Ability to work independently.
