Head of Engineering

Our client is looking for a Head of Engineering to lead our client's team and play a key role in building and strengthening engineering capabilities in the high-voltage submarine our client industry.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead our client's team and define its strategic direction in alignment with business objectives and growth plans.
• Continuously review and optimize organizational structures, roles, responsibilities, and engineering processes.
• Establish new roles and capabilities in response to business expansion, new products, and emerging technical requirements.
• Drive engineering process improvements and present strategic recommendations to senior management.
• Lead annual budgeting, resource planning, and capacity planning for our client's team.
• Build a high-performing engineering organization with the right technical capabilities to support future business growth.
• Manage our client's team's development project portfolio and ensure alignment with business priorities.
• Work closely with Commercial and Business Development teams to understand market trends, customer needs, and emerging opportunities.
• Translate market and customer requirements into new product and technology development initiatives.
• Provide technical leadership and expert guidance across our client's team.
• Establish and maintain our client design guidelines, engineering procedures, and technical standards.
• Build and maintain strategic relationships with key material and component suppliers.
• Lead workforce planning and recruitment for key Engineering functions.
• Report Engineering Division performance, development progress, major risks, and strategic initiatives to senior management.

About You

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
• 10+ years of experience leading an engineering department, technical team, or major project team.
• Proven experience in engineering leadership, product development, and cross-functional project management.
• Advanced knowledge of submarine our client design and our client engineering.
• Strong knowledge of our client testing, qualification, and international standards.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and negotiation skills.
• Strong strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
• Fluent in English with strong professional communication skills.
