Accountant

Our client is looking for an Accountant to support the delivery of a major renewable energy project.

Key Responsibilities

• Responsible for communication between external accounting service provider and functional finance departments.
• Prepare monthly financial reporting and submit to shareholders in a timely manner in accordance with IFRS and local GAAP.
• Prepare supporting calculations for journals, intercompany reconciliations, monthly billing, and other closing procedures.
• Verify bookings, explain discrepancies, and provide guidance for the accounting provider.
• Maintain contact with the project team and cost control team (PMO).
• Oversee and work closely with advisors providing finance, payroll, and tax support for all Polish entities.
• Assist in delivering budgets and forecasts.
• Oversee accounting for two project companies and collaborate with the cost controller to ensure accuracy of financial reports.
• Support the Project Director and development team by providing timely, complete, and accurate financial information, bank statements, bank transfers, and invoices.
• Build relationships across the business and bridge interests and requirements of different disciplines.
• Participate in the rollout of ERP (Workday) for the three Polish entities.

About You

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
• 3+ years of relevant experience in accountancy and/or an operational setting, preferably in utility companies (energy producers).
• Experience with reporting to international shareholders for consolidation purposes.
• Strong proficiency with MS Excel and familiarity with financial systems.
• Knowledge of local (Polish) regulatory requirements in tax/accounting.
• Fluent in English, both spoken and written.
