Senior Contract Manager
Description and responsibilities
This role involves managing and advising on contractual matters to ensure compliance, identify present and anticipate potential future risks, and support the successful delivery of the project.
Primary Tasks and responsibilities
-Contract Management: Oversee and manage NEC4 contracts, ensuring all contractual obligations are met and risks are identified, and potential future risks made visible, such that these can be mitigated.
-Legal Support: Supporting the legal counsel in typical NEC contract matters Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and contractual requirements.
-Risk Management: Identify and manage contractual risks, providing solutions to mitigate potential issues.
-Documentation: Prepare, review, and negotiate contract documents, amendments, and variations.
-Stakeholder Engagement: Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, including clients, subcontractors, and legal teams.
-Dispute Resolution: Handle and resolve any contractual disputes that may arise during the project lifecycle.
-Reporting: Maintain accurate records and provide regular reports on contract status and issues to the project management team.
Additional Requirements:
-Full understanding and proven working experience with NEC3 or NEC4 Option E and C contracts, including practical involvement in managing, interpreting, and negotiating these contract forms.
-Technical understanding: able to comprehend the fundamental principles, scope, and technical requirements of the works to be executed.
-Strong commercial acumen: capable of overseeing and understanding the commercial consequences of contractual terms, identifying risks and opportunities, and formulating protective clauses to safeguard our clients Offshores interests. Contractor will be involved in the upfront contract negotiations with the Client.
-Full understanding the financial impact of contractual clauses.
-Pragmatic and flexible mindset: able to distinguish between essential negotiation points and topics that can be conceded to ensure balanced outcomes.
Technical profile requirements
-Minimum of 20 years of experience in contract management and legal advisory roles, specifically with NEC4 contracts..
Non-Technical profile requirements
-Strong understanding of NEC4 contracts and their application in engineering projects.
-Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
-Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
-Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
-Proficiency in contract management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Methodology/Certification requirements
-Master in Civil Engineering / Quantity Surveyor with legal interest.
Language proficiencies
-Native English, proficiency in other languages is a plus
