Senior Design Engineer (Substations - HV Plant)

LSP Renewables are on the hunt for a proven Substation Design Engineer to help shape the UK's energy future! ⚡ Got a solid background in high-voltage substation design and fancy tackling complex projects? This might be your next big adventure!

Here's the Scope:

- Design substations for client needs, budgets, and deadlines
- Assist with tenders, contracts, and technical drawings
- Collaborate with teams and clients to keep projects running smoothly
- Frequent site visits and tight coordination with operations
- Train and mentor engineers and CAD techs
- Join design reviews to bump up standards and processes
- Stick to safety, quality, and environmental rules (OHSAS 18001, ISO9001, ISO14001)
- Communicate clearly and professionally at all levels

What You Need:

- Degree/HND in Electrical/Electronic Engineering
- 5+ years' experience in power transmission and substation design
- In-depth knowledge of National Grid, British Standards, and UK design rules
- Pro skills in 2D CAD software (Autodesk a big plus)
- Quick learner of new engineering software
- Experienced with NGET stage 4.4 design and earthing up to 400kV
- Bonus if you’ve dabbled in overhead lines, civil design, protection & control, HV cables
- Extra brownie points for MSc, chartership, and expertise in CDEGS, AutoCAD, and power system tools
