Senior Field Engineer - BESS
We are looking for an experienced Senior Field Engineer with strong expertise in Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), including Power Conversion Systems (PCS) and Lithium Battery Systems. The successful candidate will lead installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance activities across Commercial & Industrial (C&I) and Utility-Scale energy storage projects.

This role also plays a key part in technical training and knowledge development, supporting both customers and internal teams through hands-on training, technical guidance, and the creation of operational procedures and documentation.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Operations

• Lead the installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance of PCS, BESS, and RESS solutions.
• Perform system diagnostics, functional testing, performance analysis, and fault resolution.
• Ensure project execution aligns with technical standards, project timelines, and customer expectations.
• Support system optimization and operational reliability across multiple project sites.

Technical Support & Escalation

• Provide advanced remote troubleshooting and technical support through the call center/help desk function.
• Act as the escalation point for complex technical issues related to BESS and PCS systems.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to deliver timely issue resolution.

Customer Engagement

• Serve as the primary technical interface for customers during commissioning and after-sales support activities.
• Communicate technical findings, corrective actions, and system performance updates clearly and professionally.
• Build strong customer relationships through high-quality technical service and support.

Reporting & Documentation

• Prepare detailed technical reports, commissioning records, diagnostic findings, and maintenance documentation.
• Maintain accurate service logs, inspection records, and compliance checklists.
• Ensure all documentation is completed in accordance with company and project standards.

Training & Technical Development

• Deliver technical training sessions for customers, service partners, and internal engineering teams.
• Develop and improve technical procedures, installation manuals, troubleshooting guides, and training materials.
• Contribute field insights and lessons learned to continuously improve operational processes and training programs.

Health, Safety & Compliance

• Ensure full compliance with HSE policies, site safety procedures, and industry regulations.
• Conduct on-site safety assessments and maintain proper handling of tools, equipment, and electrical systems.
• Promote a strong safety culture across all field activities.

Requirements

Education

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Energy Systems, Mechatronics, or a related technical discipline.

Experience

• Minimum 4–5 years of hands-on field service experience within BESS, PCS, or RESS environments.
• Proven experience leading commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance activities for C&I and Utility-Scale energy storage projects.
• Experience delivering technical training and developing procedures/documentation is highly desirable.

Technical Skills

• Strong technical knowledge of BESS, PCS, Lithium Battery Systems, and grid compliance requirements.
• Ability to interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings.
• Familiarity with SCADA systems, EMS (Energy Management Systems), and remote monitoring platforms.

Soft Skills

• Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to deliver effective technical training.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Ability to work independently in dynamic field environments and manage multiple priorities.

Work Environment

• Frequent travel to project and customer sites.
• Field-based role involving industrial and outdoor working conditions.
• Availability for on-call support during critical project stages and emergency situations.
