Project Development Manager - Solar/BESS

An established renewable energy developer, renowned for its expertise in financing, building, and operating a diverse range of renewable energy and energy storage assets across the UK, is seeking a Project Developer to join their dynamic Development Team.

This role offers a unique chance to lead the development of cutting-edge energy infrastructure projects, contributing to a rapidly expanding portfolio. With over 2GW of projects in the development pipeline, including Solar and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), and 240MW under asset management, the company is poised for significant growth, backed by substantial capital investment.

As a Project Developer, you will be at the forefront of driving projects through the development process, ensuring timely and budget-compliant completion.

Key Responsibilities:

• Spearhead project development through design and environmental appraisal, collaborating with land, grid, and planning colleagues to submit planning applications.
• Oversee project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure on-schedule, within-budget completion.
• Work with land managers and agents to secure necessary land agreements (HOTS and Options).
• Support site selection through due diligence or greenfield site identification.
• Manage planning system applications and represent the company in discussions with planning authorities and public consultations.
• Foster and maintain stakeholder relationships.
• Collaborate with a network of expert advisors.
• Discharge pre-construction planning conditions, working closely with advisors and contractors.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; advanced degree preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in project management, preferably within renewable energy.
• Comprehensive understanding of project development and planning processes, including TCPA and DCO applications.
• Exceptional communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Proficiency in project management tools and Microsoft Office Suite.
• A background in energy development and an existing network within the industry are highly desirable.
• A keen interest in renewable energy development.
