Vice President/Senior Vice President - Investment
We are representing our client; a European infrastructure investment platform focused on the energy transition across the UK and wider European markets in seeking a Vice President/Senior Vice President – Investment.
The business originates, structures, and manages investments across renewable generation and energy storage, targeting resilient cash flows and disciplined, risk-adjusted returns. The platform is in the process of launching its first European infrastructure fund, backed by an active pipeline across solar, wind, and battery storage. The investment strategy centres on acquiring construction-ready assets, enhancing delivery timelines, and creating value through execution capability, optimisation initiatives, and structured revenue management.
The Role
This is a high-impact capital deployment role sitting directly beneath senior leadership, with responsibility for driving transactions from initial screening through to execution and eventual exit. The role carries direct accountability for structuring, delivery, and performance against fund return objectives.
The successful candidate will have exposure to Investment Committee decision-making and limited partner engagement, operating in a fast-paced, execution-led investment environment.
Role & Responsibilities
Origination & Pipeline Development
• Originate and assess investment opportunities aligned with fund strategy across solar, wind, BESS, and hybrid assets
• Build and maintain relationships with developers, advisors, lenders, and co-investors to generate proprietary deal flow
• Contribute to portfolio construction, geographic allocation, and deployment strategy
Transaction Execution & Structuring
• Lead end-to-end execution of investments from initial screening through to closing
• Structure equity and debt solutions to optimise risk-adjusted returns
• Build and review detailed financial models, valuations, and investment cases
• Manage multi-stream due diligence across technical, legal, commercial, and financial workstreams
• Lead negotiation of transaction and financing documentation
Fund & Investment Management
• Prepare and present investment papers to the Investment Committee
• Ensure investments align with fund mandate, return targets, and risk parameters
• Support capital deployment pacing and portfolio diversification objectives
• Monitor portfolio performance against underwriting assumptions
LP & Stakeholder Engagement
• Support fundraising and investor engagement processes
• Contribute to preparation of marketing materials, data rooms, and investor presentations
• Assist with ongoing LP reporting, including portfolio performance and insights
Value Creation & Exit
• Lead refinancing, optimisation, and value creation initiatives across portfolio assets
• Support development and execution of exit strategies, including asset sales and portfolio realisations
• Coordinate structured exit processes alongside external advisors
Platform Build
• Contribute to the development of fund processes, governance frameworks, and investment discipline
• Support the build-out of a scalable investment platform and team structure
Candidate Profile
• 10+ years’ experience in infrastructure private equity, renewable energy investment, or project finance
• Experience within a closed-end infrastructure or private equity fund is essential
• Strong track record in executing buy-side and/or sell-side transactions end-to-end
• Advanced financial modelling, valuation, and investment analysis capability
• Strong understanding of fund structures, IRR, MOIC, and capital deployment dynamics
• Direct experience investing across European markets, including the UK and continental Europe (e.g. Iberia, Italy, Nordics, Romania)
• Experience working with institutional investors, lenders, and advisory counterparties
• Ability to manage multiple live transactions under tight timelines
• Strong commercial judgement and execution focus
