Job Title: Investment Manager – Renewable Energy (Wind Focus)

Location: London, with occasional travel as required

 

Role Overview

Our client, one of the world’s largest wind turbine manufacturers, is seeking a highly motivated and commercially astute Investment Manager to join their London-based team. The successful candidate will bring extensive expertise in renewable energy investments, with a strong focus on utility-scale wind projects in the UK.

This role will be central to identifying, evaluating, and executing investment opportunities, with responsibility for financial modelling, due diligence, and transaction management. The Investment Manager will also provide strategic insights on energy markets and procurement structures to support the growth of the company’s investment portfolio.

 

Key Responsibilities

Deal Execution & Investment Analysis

• Lead financial modelling, valuation, and investment case preparation for wind and solar projects.
• Drive due diligence processes, including financial, regulatory, and technical assessments.
• Evaluate new opportunities and provide data-driven recommendations to senior leadership.

Energy Market & Pricing Expertise

• Monitor UK electricity market trends, policy developments, and pricing mechanisms to identify risks and opportunities.
• Assess the impact of pricing dynamics on renewable energy investments.

Procurement & Trading

• Support the negotiation and structuring of Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) and trading arrangements.
• Provide insights to optimize procurement strategies and returns.

Strategic Insights & Reporting

• Prepare high-quality investment memoranda, presentations, and reports for internal stakeholders.
• Deliver strategic recommendations to optimize portfolio performance and inform growth strategy.

 

Qualifications & Experience

Education

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Renewable Energy, or a related discipline.

Professional Experience

• At least 6 years’ experience in renewable energy or infrastructure investment, with significant exposure to UK wind projects.
• Strong background from an investment bank (IBD), private equity fund, energy investor, or development-related investment firm.
• Demonstrated success in managing complex renewable energy transactions, with expertise in project finance and risk management.
• Alternatively, senior-level experience within a Big Four firm or similar, with a proven track record in investment analysis and due diligence.

Technical Skills

• Advanced proficiency in financial modelling, investment appraisal, and risk analysis.
• Deep understanding of project financing structures, energy pricing mechanisms, and UK energy market dynamics.

Language Skills

• Fluency in English (both written and spoken).
