Country Manager, Portugal - Solar PV
Location: Portugal
LSP have partnered with a leading developer and operator in Europe to recruit a Country Manager to lead the organisation to develop, build and operate renewable energy and gases projects in Portugal. Our client has more than 1700 MW of operating assets under management in several countries across Europe and has been increasing its presence throughout the European market, including Portugal.
With a large pipeline of projects under development and entering construction in Portugal currently, our client has experienced rapid growth and intends to have a stronger presence in the Portuguese market.

Responsibilities:
The Country Manager will report to the Managing Director for Southern Europe. Main duties and responsibilities are exclusively related to the Portuguese market and include:
- Lead the organization to develop, build and operate renewable energy and gases projects
- Drafting and presenting annual budgets for the market
- Assessing project acquisition opportunities, incl. participation in potential M&A transactions
- Performing strategic market analysis for the market
- Coordinating all the external and internal professionals from different departments in order to deliver on the company’s proposed targets
- Develop and foster strong working relationships with the local team to support business development
- Be the company’s institutional representative in the Portuguese market
- Be a daily link between the Portuguese team and the Managing Director for the Southern European Region
The ideal profile:
- Has at least three years of experience working with the development of renewable energy projects (wind/solar)
- Previous experience of managing teams of at least 10 people
- Is fluent in Portuguese and English, with strong communication skills in both languages
- Has solid and verifiable general management experience in construction or project-based industries
- Has proven leadership skills
- Has strong analytical, interpersonal and organizational skills
Furthermore, you could have experience/skills in:
- Managing the construction of large-scale wind or PV plants until commissioning phase
- Project management in Portugal
- Written and oral communication in other languages
- M&A, project finance and PPA negotiations
