Construction Project Manager - Solar PV

LSP have partnered with a leading Renewable’s Developer to recruit for an exciting Construction Project Manager opportunity.

The main purpose of the job will be to oversee the pre-construction and construction phases of a number of Solar PV projects in the UK.

Main tasks and responsibilities:
  • Undertake pre-planning, pre-construction, and construction phase services in connection with UK and wider European and global renewable developments, providing advice to all parts of the business.
  • Interacting proactively with clients, contractors, and other project stakeholders, demonstrating the ability to manage complex and challenging renewable energy projects.
  • Contract management and interpretation on key project contracts, including EPC style agreements.
  • Prepare and submit various documentation including but not limited to: Tenders; Technical documentation; Contract preparation and management; and Planning condition discharging.
  • Work with key stakeholders (client, funders, planning authorities, statutory environmental authorities, local communities, utilities, highway authorities etc.) in delivering construction management services.
  • Administration relating to the projects including management of project budgets, risk registers and action plans.
  • Ad hoc assessments and tasks associated with project management as directed by the project team involved.
  • Identify and assist in undertaking business development activities for the purpose of successfully growing and developing the project management services within the team.
  • Undertake the continual management of all direct reports from an HR perspective, including on-going personal development reviews. Coach and mentor staff as appropriate to improve performance.
  • Resource management of sub-teams set up as part of the construction management team setup.
  • When requested, attend departmental and senior management meetings to inform and update the senior management group on business and strategic points relating to the project management team performance.
  • Assist the department project managers and assistant project managers with their projects, and be a key point of support and escalation for clients.
  • Lead by example exhibiting best practice in people and team management skills identified by the organisation.
  • Provide due diligence input and technical advisory services across the wider business when required.
Relevant Experience:
  • Highly organised, detail orientated with the ability to effectively influence and negotiate across all levels.
  • Ability to prioritise and organise multiple tasks concurrently whilst working within project deadlines.
  • Experience of Microsoft office suite particularly Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with and manage client and colleague relationships.
  • Exposure to dealing with multiple clients, contractors, and stakeholders.
  • Accustomed to negotiating and influencing others.
  • Experience in solar PV is desirable but not essential.
Specialist Knowledge and Skills:
  • Previous construction Project Management experience.
  • Renewable Energy Construction Experience.
Education & Qualifications:
  • Degree qualified in a relevant engineering or project management discipline.
