MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS WEEK - LONELINESS

LSP News

The theme for this year’s Mental Health Awareness Week is 'loneliness'.
Loneliness affects many of us at one time or another throughout our life.

Over the last few years, the feelings of loneliness and isolation have been made more prevalent in our lives due to the pandemic. Social distancing, lock down restrictions and working from home has allowed many of us across the globe to have been stripped of access to friends, family, and support networks.

This mental health awareness week is about raising awareness to build meaningful connections to battle the loneliness members of our society could be facing on a day-to-day basis.

HOW DOES LSP HELP TO TACKLE LONELINESS?

Here at LSP Renewables we understand the work some of our contractors undertake can cause loneliness. Long quarantine periods, lone working, and rotations away from home can begin to take its toll. LSPs core values; warmth, transparency, longevity, trust and delivery, are at the forefront of our minds at all times in providing an exceptional service, our staff are in regular contact with our contractors and clients to ensure we can offer any help or support at any time.
Internally we encourage our employees to speak out about how they are feeling at work in regular meetings or on return from being unwell. Team building days incorporating exercise offsite give our employees the opportunity to support one another across all departments and develop open, meaningful relationships.

HOW CAN YOU HELP?

The Mental Health UK Organisation is running a campaign throughout this week and have developed a simple four step plan to get individuals and organisations to help tackle loneliness.

Raise Awareness – Help people to understand loneliness and the links between feeling lonely and poor mental health.
Invite Conversations – Actively check in on those around you and begin conversations.
Volunteer – Join forums, volunteer your time if you can and help others who may not have support connections.
Act – Encourage more people to act and join the support.
