Did you know that males account for 69% of suicide. 60 men die every hour, that is one death every minute of every day. On average men are dying 5 years earlier than women, and a growing number of these deaths are due to prostate cancer and testicular cancer.
Movember is the leading charity changing the face of men's health, and this year LSP Renewables are joining them.
Movember, formerly ‘November’ is when men around the world raise money and awareness by growing a moustache or choosing to ‘move’ for men's mental health. The charity was founded in 2003 after two friends realised that the moustache had disappeared from fashion trends, and they wanted to see if they could bring it back. Inspired by a family friend who was fundraising for other charities, the two friends sourced 30 men who were willing to take on the challenge and Movember was born.
Fast forward 19 years and Movember has created over 5 million supporters across the world, funding 1,200 men’s health projects across more than 20 countries.
Men’s health is in crisis, and we need to help accelerate a change. With a group of the team growing a moustache, and the others taking part in the ‘Move for Movember’ challenge, we are hoping to raise funds and awareness to our clients, candidates, and staff the importance of men’s health.
