Eurowind Energy Plans for 220MW Solar Farm in Romania

Eurowind Energy has announced a major step forward in its Romanian operations with plans to build a 220MW solar park in Vișina, Dâmbovița County.

Valued at €174.8 million, the project will be the Danish developer’s largest in the country. Once operational, it is expected to generate around 400GWh of clean electricity annually; enough to power approximately 150,000 homes.

The development spans 354 hectares and will feature more than 400,000 solar panels. It also includes upgrades to a 7.5km agricultural access road, which will remain open to the public.

Adrian Dobre, Eurowind’s Country Manager for Romania, described the project as a long-term investment, with plans to integrate storage solutions to support grid stability.

Vișina marks Eurowind’s fifth solar site in Romania. By the end of 2025, the company expects to operate 124MW of installed capacity in the region, with a pipeline of 7.5GW across solar, wind, hybrid and storage.

At LSP, we specialise in connecting talent to opportunity across the full renewable energy lifecycle, including solar, wind and hybrid infrastructure. Discover more about our work in the solar sector: https://www.lsprenewables.com/jobs/#/solar-recruitment
