The UK Government has confirmed its continued commitment to the Contracts for Difference (CfD) scheme, with Allocation Round 7 (AR7) already in motion. As RenewableUK highlighted in their latest update, the scheme is set to benefit from an increased budget and revised parameters aimed at restoring investor confidence and unlocking delivery across all renewable technologies In Offshore Wind.
With legally binding net zero targets to meet and significant ground to cover before 2030, the signs point toward a buoyant and competitive AR7 round. Industry sentiment is optimistic, with expectations that this round will correct course following AR6 and signal the start of a more consistent and ambitious delivery pipeline.
