Site Manager

Our Client is looking for an experienced, dedicated Site Manager to join the Substation Build Team. The role involves delivering high-voltage projects ranging from 11kV to 132kV, including refurbishing and constructing new switch houses and transformer enclosures. This position is integral to the company's mission of providing comprehensive substation build and refurbishment services across the UK.

As a Site Manager, you will coordinate and supervise construction activities from start to finish, acting as the principal contractor for the client. The role requires a proactive approach to managing site operatives, subcontractors, and ensuring compliance with all safety and legislative requirements. You will be a key player in ensuring the successful delivery of complex high-voltage projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Day-to-day management of site operatives, subcontractors, and site work
• Development and implementation of safety documentation including Health and Safety Plans, Method Statements, and Risk Assessments
• Identify training requirements for site personnel
• Procurement of materials using computer-based systems
• Notify line manager of possible variations and maintain suitable contemporary records
• Fulfil the role of Temporary Works Supervisor where required
• Ensure full compliance on projects with all the company IDEC procedures and current legislation
• Client liaison, including arranging progress meetings, pre-start meetings, and client audits
• Identify and resolve design issues raised on site
• Planning and programming of current and future works on site
• Subcontractor monitoring and auditing
• Deliver complex high-voltage projects across multiple sites
• Compilation of documents and As Built records for handover files
• Support the Senior Team with all reasonable requests

Qualifications

• Qualified to HNC/Degree Level in Construction, Civil Engineering, or an Electrical discipline or equivalent
• CITB Site Managers Safety Training Scheme
• SSE Sub Station Entry
• Temporary Works Supervisor certification
• Background in construction and the electricity industry
• Competency to work in substations up to 132kV
• Knowledge of NEC contracts
• Knowledge of current legislation relating to Health, Safety, and Environment
• Cost/Value reporting exposure
• IT literate, specifically in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
• Full driving licence
