Purpose;
  • To provide environmental & sustainability advice, guidance and support to the project team across all operations
 Key Accountabilities;
  • Responsible for reducing the environmental risk associated with construction activities within the project team
  • Provide visible environmental engagement and support across scheme and its supply chain across both England and Scotland through on site visits  
  • Work closely with the Senior Environmental and Sustainability Advisor and in partnership with the internal project team in the development and implementation of the project environmental & sustainability strategy and a proactive approach to environmental management; ensuring the risk to the environment is managed effectively 
  • Support the monitoring of contractor performance and compliance across all operations
  • Contribute towards developing a positive environmental & sustainability culture across the project
  • Advise project leadership on performance against environmental targets, opportunities and key performance indicators
  • Work with colleagues from Scottish Power Transmission within the SHES Team
  • Provide expertise, assistance and support for environmental incidents
  • Promote a positive SHES culture through visible proactive, consistent and influential behaviours
Knowledge, Skills and Experience;
  • Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, with the ability and confidence to communicate and build relationships with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation 
  • Capability to engage and inform internal and external stakeholders in positive, constructive ways 
  • A drive and enthusiasm for continuous improvement and experience of change management 
  • Has a manner, style and presence that makes a positive impression 
  • Passion for embedding a positive environmental culture 
  • Excellent organisational, planning and time management skills 
  • Experience of working with regulatory agencies and external stakeholders  
  • Current driving licence (as the role will require travel both within England and Scotland)
