Civil Engineer - Development
The Technical Engineer – Development will support the development and construction of onshore wind, solar and battery energy storage projects in the UK and Ireland, helping to grow the development pipeline and the portfolio of assets under construction and operation. The role will include the following functions:

Screening development sites and providing inputs to financial modelling

Early-stage site design

Procuring site studies
-
Liaising with the grid operator and monitoring grid connection costs and requirements
-
Preliminary design and optimisation, including civil design of PV, wind and BESS projects
-
Managing engineering input for projects across multiple disciplines (Project Engineer role)
-
Development of employer’s requirements for EPC contracts and providing technical input into EPC terms
-
Reviewing tenders during the procurement phase
-
Performing or subcontracting Basic and Detailed Design studies, including:
-
PV mounting structures and piling solutions based on site conditions
-
Wind farm roads and turbine foundations
-
Substation buildings and associated civil works
-

Supporting construction through critical document review and owner’s engineer activities
-
Supporting integration of civil works with other elements of renewable energy projects
-
Performing technical qualification of mounting systems and auditing manufacturer facilities
-
Supporting testing, commissioning and handover of projects into operation
You will be supported by an international engineering network with extensive experience delivering large-scale renewable energy projects each year.
The position is based in London with occasional travel to project sites in the UK and Ireland.

Qualifications / Required Experience
-
Degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or related discipline, or equivalent experience

Experience in concept design for solar PV or wind projects
-
Commercial awareness of the impact of losses, CAPEX and OPEX on project economics
-
Experience in project management or project/lead engineer role
-
Experience working within multi-disciplinary teams
-
Fluency in written and spoken English
