On behalf of a leading offshore wind developer, LSP are searching for a Package Manager to oversee the safe delivery of the onshore substation package.
Onshore Substation Package Manager
As the Onshore Substation Package Manager you will safely deliver the Onshore Substation and connection to the national electricity transmission network including developing the package tender process, substation design, supply, construction, installation and commissioning, and liaison with other package managers as required to deliver the scope. You will ensure the package equipment is developed and integrated fully into the wider electrical system including the onshore cable, offshore substations, offshore cables and landfall infrastructure and handed over with all documentation complete as required.

Onshore Substation Package Manager
As the Onshore Substation Package Manager you will safely deliver the Onshore Substation and connection to the national electricity transmission network including developing the package tender process, substation design, supply, construction, installation and commissioning, and liaison with other package managers as required to deliver the scope. You will ensure the package equipment is developed and integrated fully into the wider electrical system including the onshore cable, offshore substations, offshore cables and landfall infrastructure and handed over with all documentation complete as required.
Key Responsibilities:
- As the Onshore Substation Package Manager you will safely deliver the Onshore Substation and connection to the national electricity transmission network including developing the package tender process, substation design, supply, construction, installation and commissioning, and liaison with other package managers as required to deliver the scope. You will ensure the package equipment is developed and integrated fully into the wider electrical system including the onshore cable, offshore substations, offshore cables and landfall infrastructure and handed over with all documentation complete as required;
- Deliver the Onshore substation including the electrical system, procurement and project management of the electrical system component parts (where technical and commercial synergies exist) in liaison with the Lead Electrical Engineer, Transmission Electrical Project Manager and Senior Project Manager for the project;
- Be responsible for the safety, planning, quality, time schedule and budget control of the Onshore Substation, grid connection works and associated electrical systems and equipment, and civils and mechanical works on behalf of our Client;
- Utilise other package resources as required to successfully deliver the package;
- Promote ‘Right First Time’ behaviours within the project team to ensure comprehensive safety management, planning, risk identification, mitigation and taking action to recover forecast departures from plan;
- Manage handover of the Onshore Substation to the commissioning and OFTO operations team and the grid owner as required;
- Contribute to ongoing Lessons Learned activities, actively sharing knowledge, information and potential improvements;
Deliverables:
- The role will safely deliver all aspects of the tendering, contracting, design, construction and handover to commissioning and the OFTO operations team of the Onshore Substation Package with handover of relevant as built information and commercial close out of the contract as required.
Key Qualifications:
- Degree or Chartership in Project Management and membership of recognised Project Management organisation such as APM
- Sound knowledge of Electrical Engineering, preferably higher qualification, or closely related competency
- Renewable energy/offshore wind farm experience
- Demonstrable experience of working effectively in an international business
Must have qualifications/experience
- Understanding of and ability to work to the CDM regulations.
- Experience of working in package management of Offshore substations or closely related complex infrastructure.
- More than 5 years of experience on large, complex capital projects through development and construction phase, especially HV and EHV transmission systems and associated works
- Knowledge of grid infrastructure and grid code
- Renewable energy/offshore wind farm experience
- Project expectation is that project team members will be required to attend Swindon (Main project office), London or Coventry offices as required and in agreement with the line manager. Work pattern to be agreed and as a minimum, face to face attendance is expected two days per week for scheduled meetings and effective interaction with the project team.
