Offshore Development Commercial Manager

Summary
Reporting to the Regional Head of Development, the Commercial Manager supports early-stage offshore wind development, focusing on project origination, commercial structuring, and financial viability assessment.

This role bridges financial controlling and strategic analysis, requiring strong financial modelling capabilities, commercial judgement, and the ability to evaluate end-to-end business cases to support investment decisions.

Key Responsibilities

Project Development & Origination

• Support project identification, market analysis, and bid activities
• Evaluate development strategies, partnerships, and M&A opportunities
• Contribute to JV structuring, commercial negotiations, and risk allocation

Financial Modelling & Analysis

• Develop and maintain financial models, scenarios, and valuations
• Assess key assumptions, risks, and value drivers to inform decisions

Commercial Evaluation

• Provide commercial and financial challenge across functions
• Ensure robust, integrated business cases across technical and regulatory inputs

Controlling & Governance

• Support budgeting, cost tracking, and financial discipline
• Align controlling with strategic and commercial objectives

Stakeholder Management

• Prepare materials for investment approvals
• Coordinate with internal teams and external advisors

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree with a professional qualification (e.g. CFA or equivalent), bringing strong experience in investment appraisal, valuation, and scenario analysis within infrastructure or energy sectors.
• Combines robust financial modelling expertise with the ability to assess and challenge full business cases, translating complex data into clear commercial insights.
• Demonstrates sound commercial judgement, with a holistic view across financial, strategic, and operational dimensions, and a proven track record of working effectively in cross-functional, project-driven environments.
• Familiarity with the offshore wind sector is highly valued.
