On behalf of a leading offshore wind developer, LSP are recruiting for a HVDC Package Manager who will be responsible for the delivery of the HVDC contract and the coordination of the respective packages that form the HVDC system (including the Onshore Substation, The Offshore Substation and the 400kV grid connection)

- The Client seeks an independent specialist consultancy to deliver a defined delivery of the HVDC package of works for an offshore wind project. The Consultant shall operate as an external expert and shall deliver outcomes in accordance with the agreed Statement of Work (SoW), on a results based basis, with full autonomy as to how the services are performed. The Consultant may provide services personally or through a suitably qualified substitute, with no requirement for personal service.
- The HVDC package manager role shall provide expert guidance during ongoing development, negotiation and execution of the HVDC related contracts.
- Be the Client representative under the HVDC works contract.
- Produce and maintain the package execution plan, including schedule, budget forecasts, and risk/opportunity assessments.
- Develop and deliver the commercial strategy for the package in conjunction with the contracts manager
- Coordinate technical inputs and specialist analyses required to support the client’s decision-making.
- Review contractor proposals, schedules and methodologies, offering independent technical and commercial recommendations.
- Coordinate with external stakeholders such as contractors, Marine Warranty Surveyors, regulatory bodies and certification entities as required.
- Produce interface plans, actions logs and progress reports required under the SoW.
- Provide specialist advisory input on HSE matters relevant to HVDC construction operations.
- Review contractor HSE documentation and make recommendations to ensure alignment with industry standards.
- Prepare reports, dashboards and presentations summarising progress, risks and key decisions for the client’s project leadership team.
- Provide independent expert opinion at project meetings when required.

- Degree or Chartership in Project Management and membership of recognised
- Project Management organisation such as APM
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, preferably higher qualification, or closely related competency
- Knowledge of standards associated with delivery of an Offshore Substation and offshore works
- Experience of delivering complex HVDC Electrical system
- Degree level education or similar
- Working knowledge of Electrical Engineering or closely related Engineering or technical degree.
- Experience delivering large, complex capital projects through development and construction phase
- Experience of HV and EHV transmission systems
- Knowledge of grid infrastructure
- Strong influencing and negotiation skills with suppliers and grid operators
- Strong team player, self-starting and highly motivated
- Strong level of competency in contract management, claims management, negotiation techniques and dispute resolution methodologies
- A flexible approach to work and willingness to travel frequently within UK and abroad
