Title: Junior ECI Technician
Location: South Wales (with occasional travel to London and other UK sites)

LSP are exclusively supporting a fast-growing clean energy organisation in the search for a Junior ECI Technician to join their operations team at an industrial facility in South Wales.

About the Role

We are seeking a Junior ECI Technician who is eager to learn, develop technical skills, and support the safe and reliable operation of an industrial energy production facility.

This role is well suited to someone with a solid electrical and instrumentation foundation and some practical experience in a production, industrial, or field-based environment, for example from a technician or field engineering background, who wants to grow within a future-focused sector.

Previous experience within this specific energy technology is not required. What matters most is curiosity, enthusiasm, and a willingness to learn. Structured training and mentoring will be provided so that you can build your skills and gain confidence working with advanced industrial systems.

You will work alongside experienced engineers and technicians, gaining hands-on exposure to the equipment and processes used in modern energy production facilities.

Key Responsibilities

As you gain experience, your responsibilities will gradually expand. Typical activities may include:

• Supporting the safe operation and maintenance of electrical, control, and instrumentation systems across the facility

• Following established safety procedures and contributing to a strong safety-first culture

• Assisting with maintenance and troubleshooting of production equipment, gas systems, water treatment systems, and related plant infrastructure (training provided)

• Supporting quality checks to ensure production output consistently meets required specifications

• Assisting with calibration, inspection, and upkeep of instrumentation

• Working with engineering staff to support continuous improvement initiatives

• Applying basic lean principles to help identify inefficiencies and opportunities for improvement

• Reviewing performance data and operational KPIs to support problem solving and root-cause analysis

• Supporting the use of digital monitoring systems and modern plant technologies

• Assisting during maintenance shutdowns and supporting Permit to Work systems

• Collaborating with engineering, operations, and support teams

• Occasionally travelling to other UK locations as required

Skills & Experience

Essential

• Level 3 technical qualification (Apprenticeship, NVQ, BTEC, or equivalent) in Electrical & Instrumentation or a related engineering discipline

• Practical experience within a production, industrial, or field-based environment

• Exposure to both electrical and mechanical systems

• Interest in continuous improvement or lean principles

• Experience working with operational KPIs or performance data

• Basic fault-finding and diagnostic skills

• Understanding of industrial health, safety, and quality practices

• Willingness to undertake further training (e.g., hazardous area certification)

• Based in South Wales or able to commute to the site

Desirable (not essential)

• Experience with PLC or SCADA systems

• Familiarity with digital monitoring systems or modern industrial automation tools

• Participation in operational improvement or optimisation projects
