O&M Manager - BESS

Are you an experienced professional in the realm of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) Operations & Maintenance? This role offers a unique chance to elevate your career while making a tangible impact on the future of energy storage across Europe.

Key Responsibilities:

Maintain Energy Storage Systems to a high standard through regular inspections, annual capacity tests, troubleshooting, and reactive maintenance.
Provide remote or on-site technical support for commissioning, testing, troubleshooting, and performance verification.
Develop and continuously improve technical Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and maintenance procedures.
Communicate effectively with clients, coordinate internal and external resources, and ensure smooth project execution and customer satisfaction.
Regularly review O&M team technical competencies and training needs, planning and delivering necessary training sessions.
Work in alignment with Health & Safety personnel to ensure all activities comply with local safety regulations and company safety standards.
Manage warehouse, spare parts, and local supply chain related to O&M operations.
Monitor system performance through SCADA and remote monitoring platforms; analyse operation data to identify performance issues.
Oversee O&M activities across different sites, ensuring consistency and operational excellence.
Report to the O&M Team Leader, providing regular updates on system performance, incidents, and ongoing activities.

Essential Requirements:

Qualification in an electrical discipline.
Multi-skilled maintenance experience in the Solar or BESS industry.
Strong working knowledge of BESS systems including batteries, BMS, HVAC, and fire suppression systems.
Advanced IT skills (Word, Outlook, Excel, IP configuration, and diagnostic software).
Practical understanding of SCADA systems, networking, remote monitoring, and related protocols.
Valid certification for safe on-site work in accordance with European standards.
Willingness to travel to multiple sites; overnight or international travel required.
English fluency.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in monitoring centre operations or remote system performance management.
Prior experience in development or maintenance roles with Tier-1 BESS suppliers.
Holder of recognised European site operation safety qualifications.
Strong understanding of HV/LV power electronics, including inverters and transformers.
