You will work closely and exclusively with multiple offshore wind projects, taking them through the DCO process, engineering and construction phases. Responsibilities Act as the lead for geospatial activities within a wind project.Plan, coordinate and manage geospatial resources and support across the project.Develop innovative solutions and procedures and promote best practice to improve efficiency and quality within the geospatial team and across projects.Review all scopes of work and method statements for third party suppliers where a geospatial deliverable will be required.Undertake geospatial mapping, analysis, data capture, data management and geoprocessing.Provide geospatial Data Management on projects to both internal and external clients.Conduct Quality Control and Quality Assurance of data and outputs.Advise project staff on all geospatial related issues.Develop and maintain geospatial web-based applications.Provide technical support for the implementation and operation of geospatial projects.Perform geospatial analysis, modelling and reporting to support decision making.Understand the geospatial concepts and inputs to LCOE modelling.Ensure the controlled connection of geospatial data between wind yield, layout planning and project developments teams.Generate, maintain and disseminate geospatial layers, maps and metadata.The Geospatial Specialist is a technical role for those who have a passion for data and a zeal to unlock and use data and analytics to inform better business decisions. Experience & Job Requirements Some experience of below listed technical ability is expected but not all:Adhering to the Geospatial standards for internal/external data and the risk of incorporating this data onto maps and data repositories.Promoting naming conventions, industry standard acronyms, codes, units of measure & symbols.Recognizing, fixing errors & inconsistences in data and fundamental workflows while managing implications of moving data and maps for avoiding data connection issues in the management of Geospatial Data.The structure of various Geospatial data formats (shape file, geodatabase, raster, tabular, tin, etc.), and how to edit data in SDE Geodatabases.Know how and when to apply datum transformations, recognize, trouble-shoot and repair coordinate reference systems issues in existing datasets and how to determine which geodetic parameters were likely used for historic datasets.Import/export of data between ArcGIS and other applications, including using FME and related tools. Developing tools for data import/export of geospatial data where needed, being cognizant of the tools that already exist.You have some familiarity with data-related technologies/languages (e.g. FME, Python, R, ElasticSearch, JavaScript, etc.).Reading, & modify the display properties of raster data sets for basic analysis. JOB ID: #7104Senior Foundations EngineerLocation: AberdeenThe Senior Foundations Engineer will play a key role in defining the optimal solution for the WTG and OSS foundations associated with our clients Offshore Wind projects.Role Manage the review process of the foundation design documents, in alignment with the project review process. Ensure that other internal stakeholders/reviewers have been involved and collate and consolidate the various comments. Support the WTG Foundations, OSS Package Managers and Interface Manager in ensuring that interfaces with other packages, contractors and stakeholders are identified and appropriately managed. Coordinate integration of other input into optimizing WTG and OSS Foundations solutions, such as that obtained from EPCI contractors, consultants and the wider industry. Review in detail the WTG and OSS Foundations design studies such as conceptual, FEED and detailed designs performed by external parties. Ability to check the designer’s design reports and calculations is necessary, the Foundation Engineer shall be able to perform independent calculations, covering both structural and geotechnical designs. Review and comment on design standards adopted by the project contractors. Review and comment on design procedures proposed by the project contractors. Review and comment on compliance with the relevant specification. Manage the integrated Load Iteration (ILA) process between the WTG foundation designer and the WTG designer, including the involvement from the design certifier for independent review/calculations. Liaising with the Certification Manager to ensure that the certification process is run efficiently. Creation of a strong and cooperative relationship between the designers, OWPL and the certifier is of paramount importance. Promote good HSSE practices and ensure HSE / CDM requirements are fully implemented. Ensure the foundation design is compliant with the relevant HSE legislation, recommendation and industry practice Ensure ‘Safe by design’ is fully implemented and risks reduced to ALARP Make sure that temporary phases are well integrated into the design, including requirements from other stakeholders such as manufacturers, T&I contractors, Cable contractors, WTG contractors, OSP contractors, etc. Organise, lead and minute key technical meetings in relation to the above activities. Preparation of technical documents/ papers for internal review Prepare internal reporting as required. Preparation of employer’s requirements and technical specifications Lead technical evaluation of proposals and evaluation of suppliers as part of tender processes in coordination with the WTG Foundations and OSS Package Managers, and the commercial team. Review the foundation suppliers manufacturing methods, quality plans etc such that the design requirements are fulfilled. Contribute to the identification and management of technical risks, issues and impacts to the project associated with the WTG and OSS foundations scope. Liaise with experts within the JV shareholders to ensure the use of best practices and apply lessons learnt from previous projects.Required Be degree educated in engineering or a related field with considerable experience in the field of offshore structures design/assessment and preferably in offshore wind Experience and knowledge of offshore wind WTG and OSS foundations is essential, in particular within foundations design. Proven technical know-how in the field of offshore wind foundations and technical project management skills, specifically: Familiarity with codes and standards such as DNV-ST-0126, DNV-ST-145, DNV-ST-0437, ISO 19900, 19901, 19902, Eurocodes Experience of offshore structural analysis using software such as SESAM, SACS etc Understanding of the CDM 2015 regulations in relation to the design, procurement and installation of offshore wind assets Excellent organisation skills with the ability to manage own workload, meet timescales and coordinate external and internal stakeholders.
