Working at a strategic level alongside the Business Development, Investment, Engineering Teams and key stakeholders, the Project Development Lead will be part evolving commercial cases for each project.
The successful candidate will lead development of the France portfolio of solar PV projects (including PV on ground, Agri-PV, co-located green hydrogen / battery storage / wind and solar assets), from initial land acquisition, planning and permitting through to auctions CRE / PPA and FC.
 
Responsibilities

• Oversee the identification of new development projects, working closely with the wider development team to apply site selection criteria.
• Supervise and coordinate the preparation, submission, and management of planning applications and associated discharge of planning conditions, while managing third-party consultants.
• Lead the negotiation of property agreements to establish heads of terms, options, and leases.
• Develop strong relationships with landowners, agents, and other stakeholders.
• Generate and maintain project schedules, risk registers, and budgets, and guide projects through our internal project management process, which includes key milestone reviews and Project Information Documents.
• Conduct commercial modelling of opportunities to assess their viability and achieve key financial hurdle rates.
• Collaborate with our in-house GIS and design team to screen sites and provide input on-site design.

Requirements

• Academic background with an engineering degree in Renewable Energy or a related field.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience managing all phases of project development, with specific expertise in origination, planning, land agreements, and grid connections.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office is essential.
• Strong team, communication, and project management skills.
• Positive, entrepreneurial, and energetic attitude.
• Fluent in French (native speaker) and English.
• Passion for the renewable energy transition and familiarity with French regulations pertaining to the renewable energy industry.
• Willingness to travel throughout France as part of the role.
