LSP Renewables have partnered exclusively with a leading Solar PV Tier 1 Module Manufacturer to recruit a European Operations Director. Our client has big plans for the European PV industry, and already have a presence in Germany, Spain, Italy, and Netherlands. They have a production capacity of 10GW and have been a tier module manufacturer for several years. The Operations Director will be responsible for the European business strategy, profitability, risk management, legal and contract management, operations, marketing, planning, warehouse & logistics, and local purchasing. You will play a pivotal role in overseeing and optimizing the manufacturing processes to ensure the production of high-quality solar PV modules. You will be responsible for managing all aspects of manufacturing operations, including production planning, quality control, supply chain management, and team leadership.
 
Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a comprehensive manufacturing strategy aligned with the company's goals and objectives
• Continuously evaluate and improve manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and increase productivity
• Stay updated on industry trends, technological advancements, and best practices in solar PV module manufacturing
• Create and manage production schedules to meet customer demand and inventory targets
• Monitor production capacity, resource allocation, and workforce planning to ensure on-time delivery
• Establish and enforce quality control standards and procedures to ensure the production of high-quality PV modules
• Implement quality assurance programs and initiatives to reduce defects and improve product reliability
• Collaborate with the procurement team to ensure a stable and cost-effective supply chain for raw materials and components
• Manage inventory levels to optimize working capital and minimize production disruptions
• Build, lead, and motivate a high-performing operations team
• Foster a culture of safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement within the manufacturing department
• Develop and monitor budgets for manufacturing operations, identifying opportunities to control costs and improve profitability
• Implement cost reduction initiatives without compromising product quality
• Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and safety standards in all manufacturing processes
• Promote sustainability initiatives, such as waste reduction and energy efficiency
• Generate regular reports on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to manufacturing efficiency, quality, and cost
• Analyse data to identify trends, bottlenecks, and opportunities for improvement
• Collaborate with other departments such as engineering, R&D, sales, and customer support to drive overall company success
• Work closely with engineering teams to implement process improvements and new product introductions

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, operations management, or a related field; Master's degree preferred
• Must be able to speak Chinese and German to a high standard
• Proven experience in manufacturing operations management, preferably in the solar PV module industry
• Strong leadership and team-building skills
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies
• Familiarity with environmental regulations and safety standards
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skill
