Our client are looking for an Offshore Wind Health & Safety specialist  to join their Offshore Wind & Ireland H&S team. You’ll be a visible leader, ensuring safety is a top priority at every stage—from design to operations. Safety will be embedded by design in early project phases, overseeing high-risk activities like construction, operations and maintenance. You will also lead incident learning, and continuously improve processes, to keep the project teams safe.


What You’ll Do:

  • Lead by example—champion safe working practices and high HSE standards
  • Shape culture—promote accountability and behavioural change in H&S
  • Develop & implement robust safety systems and procedures
  • Monitor & improve—audit, assess, and drive continual improvement
  • Collaborate & engage—work across teams, industry forums & communities
  • Support & train—advise on best practices, regulations & emergency planning

What do you need to be great at this role?
You’ll have experience of managing a health and safety function in developing projects and operational / multi-site environment.
  • Be qualified to NEBOSH Diploma level or equivalent.
  • Engineering, construction and/or offshore wind experience is desirable.
  • Experience in high voltage equipment, switching and some offshore experience is desirable.
  • Chartered member of IOSH (or similar) or working towards CMIOSH status.
  • GWO training / certificates desirable.
  • Being able to work at heights is desirable.

Technical Skills
  • Ability to provide practical H&S advice, input and support (Inc. legislation/regulation that applies to the UK & Ireland).
  • Effective communication skills, including written, on a one-to-one basis as trainer or coach, and with groups of people.
  • Ability to undertake offshore survival training and work on offshore assets.
  • Ability to influence behavioural change throughout all stages of the asset lifecycle.
  • Ability to form effective working relationships with staff at all levels, including the ability to influence behaviour by reasoned argument.
  • Competence as a risk assessor across the full range of qualitative risk assessment areas.
  • Ability to carry out detailed incident investigations to establish root and underlying causes and provide robust recommendations to prevent future reoccurrence.
  • Ability to prioritise effectively and consistently deliver against tight time constraints while working flexibly as part of a team.
  • Ability to work at height in enclosed areas using ladders and fall arrest equipment to access wind turbines.
  • Work flexibly; making site visits as required, to provide required services and support.
  • Be prepared and willing to react to business needs in an emergency.
  • Ability to adapt to different situations and work under pressure.
  • Excellent command of Microsoft Office packages (MS Excel, MS Word, MS Power Point, Outlook, etc.)
