Our client are looking for an experienced HSE Manager who will be responsible for managing the implementation of HSE procedures, promoting safety culture, managing HSE issues, and monitoring performance. An essential part of the role will be to ensure both the corporate function and projects are compliant on HSE.
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide Health, Safety and Environmental support across the business and their projects
  • Develop, implement and improve the Company Health, Safety and Environmental Policy and associated sub-policies
  • Develop and maintain the Company safety and environmental management systems, and support the Asset Management Strategy
  • Lead the continual development of the HSE/CDM part of the procurement process
  • Develop and manage the project CDM (compliance) strategy
  • Develop and manage project HSE Plans, Risk Registers and other specific project documentation
  • Assist with the development of business and project specific HSE targets and objectives
  • Challenge the business in a proactive manner to implement HSE across the scope of operations:
  • Challenge business owners (e.g. line/asset/package managers) on compliancy and targets
  • Support efforts to meet and exceed targets within the projects
  • Responsible for reporting on HSE regarding project responsibilities
  • Establish and maintain relationships with interested third parties such as the HSE, contractors, and suppliers

Person Specification

Essential Skills
  • Proactive style of personal leadership, ambitious to learn and help others
  • Capable of effectively communicating and influencing at multiple levels across an organisation
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a track record of applying best practices and relevant methodologies
  • Strong initiative and the ability to proactively identify, plan and execute as required

Experience and Knowledge (Essential)
  • Proven track record in providing HSE advice in a technical industry (renewable energy, construction, oil and gas, or utilities)
  • Up to date knowledge of Health and Safety Legislation including Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015
  • HSE experience working within an office environment and knowledge of onshore and offshore construction work

Required Qualifications
  • Suitable qualification in Health and Safety (NEBOSH Diploma or similar)
  • Degree or MSc in a relevant subject, such as Health & Safety or Engineering or similar
  • Certified Member of IOSH (actively working towards Chartered Membership)
