Our client is looking for a Package Engineer, the role has the responsibility for carrying out design work and contractor management tasks as directed by Package Managers for the onshore substation(s) and offshore substation packages.

- Preparation of technical papers/slides and presentation to management team, as required.
- Ensure adherence to SHE and quality requirements
- Receive and process TQs, always replying within 10 days.
- Raise TQs for important technical actions.
- Responsible for performing work tasks according to the requirements and time limits given by Package Manager.
- Responsible for assisting the Package Manager in preparation of detailed work planning of activities and the subsequent reporting of work progress, including MoM and action tracker.
- Contribute to the development of Design Requirements, Design Decisions.
- Responsible for the identification of any design changes as a result of a variation to the contract arising within his scope of work and the timely notification to the Package Manager.
- Attending design coordination/review meetings at contractor’s and third party’s offices.
- Contribute to design reviews associated with Project Governance activities.
- Ensure documentation review dates are maintained
- Ensure that key dates for contractual deliverables are met. Establish key dates for deliverables not stated in contract, and ensure that they are met
- Maintain a file of all minutes of meeting (MOM), designating which ones are live. Review Minutes of Meeting and ensure that they remain live until all actions are completed.
- Respond to all Variation Proposals within specified time
- Maintain, review and update interface register for the package.
- Review Interface Register on a regular basis
- Check that current actions are being completed
- Add new items and re-issue on a monthly basis where applicable
- Ensure the use of best practices and apply lessons learned from previous projects and record new lessons learned.
Required experience
- Be degree educated in electrical or structural engineering or a related field with approximately 5 years’ experience, 2 years of which spent working in the field of offshore wind.
The successful candidate will be required to demonstrate:
- The ability to manage own workload and meet demanding timescales.
- The technical skills to understand complex offshore operations and the ability to exchange with and understand subject experts.
- Excellent organisation skills with the ability to manage own workload, meet timescales and coordinate several external and internal stakeholders.
- Experienced member of engineering teams and/or engineering consultants.
- Ability to be responsive and open to changing circumstances.
- Be highly motivated, with a versatile personality and excellent interpersonal skills.
- Ready for working under pressure with pressing delivery dates.
- Excellent knowledge of English (written and spoken).
- The technical skills to understand complex offshore operations and the ability to exchange with and understand subject experts.
- Ability to work as a member of a large, multidisciplinary and international team.
- Proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint for report preparation
