Our client is looking for a Construction Manager – Biomass to join their team.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Ensuring that the EPC contractor fulfils the role and CDM obligations as Principal Contractor.
  • Maintaining best possible relations between our client, the Contractor and the host site.
  • Ensuring that project activities are coordinated with other activities taking place on the host site;
  • Ensuring that the project site offices provide suitable welfare amenities for project staff;
  • Promoting the highest site safety awareness and working methods on the site;
  • Ensuring compliance with safety and environmental management performance standards;
  • Monitoring, influencing, reporting and recording progress of project works to deliver the best site progress and quality of the works to deliver the specified requirements;
  • Influencing progress of the EPC contractor to deliver the best site progress;
  • Monitoring and controlling quality of the site works to deliver the specified requirements;
  • Monitoring, controlling, reporting and recording potential and agreed site changes and thereby contributing to site cost control;
  • Maintaining a daily site activity log to record progress and issues, to assist in claims management as necessary.
  • Assisting the EPC contractor in planning for and obtaining the necessary site safety rules documentation in a timely manner;
  • Preparing and delivering appropriate site inductions;
  • Preparing and assisting site with necessary permits for works on the operational site outside of the CDM area
  • Reviewing and commenting the Contractor’s Method Statements and Risk Assessments;
  • Monitoring site activities to ensure that the safety /environmental detail of Method Statements and Risk Assessments is being followed in practice.
  • Stopping the works if any inappropriate Safety or Environmental actions are being taken
  • Reviewing and contributing to the Health and Safety File in a timely manner.
  • Providing regular updates and status reports to the Project Manager
  • Working closely with the Project Site Engineer and Project HSE manager. 
 
Requirements
  • IOSH Managing Safety (or equivalent such as SMSTS or NVQ Level 2)
