Client Representative - Geophysical Marine Survey

Our client is looking for a Client Representative - Geophysical Marine Survey to join their team.



Location: Netherlands, Offshore
Start date: 15/10/2024
End date: 30/11/2024
Duration:  approx. 7 weeks
Rotation: 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off
 
Scope

  • Offshore activities include:
  • Act as primary representative of our client during the geophysical survey of cable routes inside the OWF.
  • Monitoring the safe execution of offshore activities
  • Monitor Contractor onboard for effective and efficiently completion of survey activities
  • Communicate closely with onshore colleagues including daily vessel call, reporting progress, deviations and lessons learned.
  • Sign off Contractor’s Daily Progress Reports, giving comments where necessary
  • Working knowledge of offshore construction contracts and a base understanding of the contractual implications of breakdowns, weather downtime, and other recordable delays.
  • Report to Project Manager EAC

 
Qualifications/Certificates

  • Degree in Geophysics, Marine Engineering, Oceanography, or a related field. Equivalent work experience may be considered.
  • GWO Training:
  • Sea Survival,
  • Working at heights,
  • First Aid
  • Fire Awareness,
  • Manual Handling.
  • Current valid medical certificate and examinations for offshore work according to legal requirements.

 
 
Experience

  • Past experience, ideally as Party Chief or Client Representative, on hydrographic survey projects
  • Strong understanding of geophysical survey techniques, equipment (such as multibeam echosounders, side scan sonar, sub-bottom profilers, magnetometer, etc.), and data processing methods.
  • Monitoring and assessment of the quality of positioning confidence checks, calibrations and patch tests
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with maritime regulations, health and safety standards, and environmental guidelines related to offshore operations.
  • Utilising digital and virtual platforms

 
Skills

  • Observant and astute to any HSE matters on and around the survey vessel
  • Analytical skills – ability to work to a high level of accuracy and to produce a high standard of written work
  • Knowledge of hydrographic survey standards, such as IHO S44
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information clearly and concisely
  • IT proficiency (Microsoft Word, Excel and Internet)
  • Experience of large-scale infrastructure projects, including cable route surveys
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to structure work to meet deadlines
  • The ability to respond to changing priorities and demands and adopt a flexible approach to working
  • Fluent spoken and written English
