Client Representative - Geophysical Marine Survey

Our client is looking for a Client Representative - Geophysical Marine Survey to join their team.
Location: Netherlands, Offshore
Start date: 15/10/2024
End date: 30/11/2024
Duration: approx. 7 weeks
Rotation: 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off
Scope
- Offshore activities include:
- Act as primary representative of our client during the geophysical survey of cable routes inside the OWF.
- Monitoring the safe execution of offshore activities
- Monitor Contractor onboard for effective and efficiently completion of survey activities
- Communicate closely with onshore colleagues including daily vessel call, reporting progress, deviations and lessons learned.
- Sign off Contractor’s Daily Progress Reports, giving comments where necessary
- Working knowledge of offshore construction contracts and a base understanding of the contractual implications of breakdowns, weather downtime, and other recordable delays.
- Report to Project Manager EAC
Qualifications/Certificates
- Degree in Geophysics, Marine Engineering, Oceanography, or a related field. Equivalent work experience may be considered.
- GWO Training:
- Sea Survival,
- Working at heights,
- First Aid
- Fire Awareness,
- Manual Handling.
- Current valid medical certificate and examinations for offshore work according to legal requirements.
Experience
- Past experience, ideally as Party Chief or Client Representative, on hydrographic survey projects
- Strong understanding of geophysical survey techniques, equipment (such as multibeam echosounders, side scan sonar, sub-bottom profilers, magnetometer, etc.), and data processing methods.
- Monitoring and assessment of the quality of positioning confidence checks, calibrations and patch tests
- Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with maritime regulations, health and safety standards, and environmental guidelines related to offshore operations.
- Utilising digital and virtual platforms
Skills
- Observant and astute to any HSE matters on and around the survey vessel
- Analytical skills – ability to work to a high level of accuracy and to produce a high standard of written work
- Knowledge of hydrographic survey standards, such as IHO S44
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information clearly and concisely
- IT proficiency (Microsoft Word, Excel and Internet)
- Experience of large-scale infrastructure projects, including cable route surveys
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to structure work to meet deadlines
- The ability to respond to changing priorities and demands and adopt a flexible approach to working
- Fluent spoken and written English
