As Fabrication Manager, you will be accountable for preparation and efficient delivery of the Jacket foundation fabrication activities.  This will include setting the construction strategy, input into the design and consenting processes, building a team that will manage the fabrication at site level, fabrication yard set-up, foundation fabrication and handover to the T&I team.

The successful candidate will build a culture that enables high quality and efficient foundation delivery by Contractors and interfaces with project cross-functional and cross-discipline organisations. This role is critical in ensuring safe construction operations and will act as the site safety lead.

Reports to the Jacket Foundation Package Manager and is a member of the Package Leadership Team. The Foundation Fabrication Manager will lead a diverse fabrication management team to achieve fabrication quality and ensure delivery of fabrication targets that include site HSSE performance, regulations compliance, and achievement of construction cost & schedule targets through to mechanical completion and loadout.

The role will require extensive travel to Europe and worldwide during the execution phase of the project, with responsibility for leading teams that may be in geographically diverse locations.  Until 2026 the role will be largely office based with some travel to visit fabrication sites in the lead up to the start of fabrication activities.


Safety Leadership

• Responsible for leading safe project fabrication performance by defining and executing to the HSE standards and performance targets on the fabrication sites.
• Site Safety Leader responsible for driving safety performance ahead of fabrication yard entry and through work in the fabrication yards.
• Promotes HSE campaigns along with HSE manager.

Fabrication Leadership

• Leads fabrication strategy and work scope development then ensures delivery within the plan (including change management). 
• Responsible for ensuring best fabrication practices and relevant lessons from other projects are applied by the project.
• Supports work package manager in evaluation of bids for fabrication works and makes recommendations in relation to risk and opportunity evaluation.
• Works hand in hand with Engineering, Transport & Installation and Operations to establish the most efficient path through the project.
• Leads team integration and team alignment with all parties/ groups associated with project fabrication goals.
• Responsible for building and managing the diverse JV fabrication team
• Supports the Fabrication team to define and deliver their specific fabrication responsibilities.
• Proactively builds mutually beneficial working relationships with a broad range of stakeholders.
• Push the boundaries of how we work by adopting agile methodologies and effectively applying them to lead value conversations
• Works with the Package Manager to establish resource frame including contracting of managed site services where applicable.

Performance management

• Sets performance targets for fabrication and manages fabrication activities and contractor(s) performance against these targets, intervening as needed to ensure they are met.  
• Continually looks ahead to identify fabrication execution risks and ensures that risks to fabrication delivery are effectively mitigated or eliminated.
• Monitors serial fabrication productivity proactively and thoroughly against programme expectations and generates a set of working KPIs.  Communicates progress and performance clearly and concisely to stakeholders.

Verification

• Supports work package manager in developing project fabrication costs/estimates and fabrication schedules.
• Leads verification of Contractor fabrication documentation, for compliance with contract and standards
• Has overall responsibility for ensuring fabrication quality delivers to the prescribed standards.
• Ensures that all JV fabrication processes are in place and being followed.
• Develops and ensures the full and proper implementation of the fabrication execution plans.
• Ensures that appropriate assurance and control processes are in place prior to proceeding with significant fabrication activities.
• Provides assurance to Package Manager that fabrication requirements are satisfied.
• Leads fabrication reviews (and contributes to other functional reviews) and implements the construction self-verification programme, particularly for the start of new activity.
