Our client is looking for a Offshore Substation Engineering Team Lead to play a pivotal role in coordinating and overseeing the engineering activities related to the design, construction, and commissioning of the offshore substation. This position involves managing multidisciplinary engineering teams, collaborating with stakeholders, and ensuring the successful execution of engineering deliverables.
 
Key Responsibilities
Project Coordination:
  • Coordinate and oversee all engineering activities and design certification related to offshore substation projects, including design development, technical specifications, and engineering deliverables.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for engineering queries, clarifications, certification and technical discussions among project stakeholders.
 
Team Management:
  • Lead and manage a multidisciplinary engineering team, including electrical, civil/structural, mechanical, and other relevant disciplines.
  • Provide guidance, direction, and technical support to engineering personnel to ensure alignment with project objectives and standards.
 
Design Oversight:
  • Review and approve engineering designs, calculations, drawings, and technical documentation prepared by internal and external engineering teams.
  • Ensure that design solutions meet project requirements, regulatory standards, and industry best practices.
 
Design Certification Oversight:
  • Review and approve engineering designs, calculations, drawings, and technical documentation prepared by internal and external engineering teams for certification requirements.
 
Interface Management:
  • Facilitate communication and collaboration between engineering teams, project management, procurement, construction, and other stakeholders.
  • Manage interfaces between different engineering disciplines to ensure integration and compatibility of design solutions.
 
Technical Support:
  • Provide technical guidance and support to resolve engineering issues, challenges, and discrepancies encountered during the project lifecycle.
  • Participate in technical reviews, risk assessments, and design optimization studies to enhance project outcomes.
 
 
 
Schedule and Budget Management:
  • Develop and maintain engineering schedules, resource plans, and budgets in coordination with project management.
  • Monitor engineering progress, identify potential delays or deviations, and implement corrective actions to ensure adherence to project timelines and budgetary constraints.
 
Quality Assurance and Compliance:
  • Implement quality assurance processes and procedures to ensure that engineering deliverables meet quality standards, regulatory requirements, and client expectations.
  • Conduct regular audits and reviews to verify compliance with engineering codes, standards, and contractual obligations.
 
Documentation and Reporting:
  • Maintain accurate records of engineering activities, including design changes, technical specifications, and correspondence with stakeholders.
  • Prepare and present engineering progress reports, status updates, and technical presentations to project management and stakeholders.
 
 
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Extensive experience in engineering coordination or management roles, preferably in the renewable energy or offshore construction industry.
  • Strong technical expertise in electrical, civil/structural, or mechanical engineering disciplines relevant to offshore substations.
  • Knowledge of relevant industry standards, codes, and regulations governing offshore construction and renewable energy projects.
  • Proficiency in project management tools and software for scheduling, budgeting, and documentation.
  • Proficient software skills with MS Office.
  • Very good understanding of the technical and organizational processes for large infrastructure projects.
  • Organized and methodical person who pays close attention to details and maintaining a clear sense of orderliness in their environment and workflow
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Very good intercultural communication skills
  • Experience in working with multi-disciplinary and intercultural project teams
  • Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English language
  • Lithuanian language skills are beneficial
