Our client is seeking a Low Voltage Authorised Person to join their team in Taiwan,
 
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Implementation of the client Electrical Safety Rules on site, including the safe system of work
  • Advise operationally on Low voltage electrical installations on onshore and offshore substations
  • Oversee safe commissioning of grid connections, onshore substations and associated LV plant and equipment
  • Oversee all LV electrical operational activities to ensure safety, security and integrity of the LV network
  • Contribute to proactive management, good coordination and communication between all parties and that the process works effectively
  • Coordinate LV commissioning activities through the project construction stages
  • Take electrical operational responsibility for an entire substation.
  • Possibility to work in adverse work conditions/emergency work scenarios.
  • On-call may arise during certain work tasks.
  • GWO training to be completed.
  • Ability to pass medical fitness test.
  • Ability to pass client electrical LV Authorisation
 
Tasks
  • Ensure compliancy with and managing of client Electrical Safety Rules
  • Safety coordination in electrical matters
  • Act as Low Voltage authorized person
  • Outage management and network control in collaboration with the Control Engineers in Control room
  • Update LV schematic diagrams
  • Inspect work sites and perform site safety inspections and auditing for electrical matters
  • Coordinate with the Lead Commissioning Project Manager to ensure that accurate updates are distributed to the Project Management
  • Manage and coordinate LV commissioning activities
  • Prepare and check Low voltage complex switching schedules
  • Check method statements for electrical matters
  • Implement and provide training programs for relevant staff according to the rules
  • Provide technical and engineering advice to working parties for electrical matters
  • Assist different departments in client when required
  • Attendance at FAT and SAT tests if required
  • Act as Training Mentor for Various projects within client
 
 
Deliverables
  • Input to the project commissioning management manual and related documents (including pre-commissioning and commissioning quality plans)
  • Participation in different audits
  • Reports from FAT & SAT on the different low voltage equipment’s
  • Participation in the planning of resource and work activities
  • Deliver inputs to the design phase of the project on technical aspect
  • Implementing LOTO and electrical operations on LV equipment
  • Setting up demarcation of worksites for contractors based on Work Requests
  • Lead toolbox talks as part of handover to start working parties.
  • Pre and Post energization checks of all LV equipment.
  • Participating in work rotations both offshore and onshore if assigned to that rotation.
  • Project specific administrative tasks to assist Lead SAP
  • Ability to work on Microsoft platforms (excel, word, outlook, etc.…)
  • Ability to lift 50lbs.
 
Decision authority / Responsibility
  • Say in relation to LV switching isolations and LOTO implementations
  • Issue of client Electrical Safety Rules safety rules documents
  • Management of electrical safety to work onsite
 
Requirements
  • Appropriate electrical qualification and background related to the authorization scope.
  • Minimum 2 years LV-equipment experience gained during commissioning & work activities
  • Minimum 6 months of working experience within offshore substations systems
  • Minimum 1 year of working experience within Wind turbines
  • Preferably knowledge of High Voltage Systems
  • Complete and up to date GWO courses and HUET with CA-EBS if required by site (climbing gear person weight limit – 120kg/264lb)
