Our client is looking for an experienced WTG / Yield Engineer to work on global offshore wind projects that are in development and construction. This person will work as part of the internal technical center of excellence (CoE) to support the Technical and Investment teams and sometimes alongside their lead partners on various development and construction projects across the global portfolio. The successful candidate will interact closely with partner teams and guide the project(s) through the bid and or development phase to the Financial Investment Decision and ultimately into Commercial Operation at the end of construction. The focus is on WTG evaluation, evolution tracking and predictions; wind farm layout creation and or critique, yield assessments, external due diligence management and project peer view on all matters relating to WTG selection and yield assessment. will also work closely with our partners commercial and technical counterpart to ensure the accuracy of yield assumptions and support recommendations for bid/development / FID approvals.
Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct wind analysis to assess the wind resource at potential project sites.
  • Provide technical advisory related to energy yield analysis internally and to project partners.
  • Undertake peer review on project WTG selection, site constraints, layouts and yield
  • Undertake analysis using the wind resource assessment data, along with information about turbine specifications and site conditions, to estimate the expected energy production of the wind farm or wind turbine.
  • Perform modeling and simulations using specialized software tools and numerical models to simulate the behavior of wind turbines and predict their energy production under different conditions.
  • Identify opportunities to optimise the performance and energy yield of wind energy projects through improvements in turbine layout, turbine selection, control strategies, and other factors.
  • Be responsible for the development of recommendations to senior management and shareholders with respect to project or sector specific issues.
  • Support the review and evaluation of offshore wind projects including the WTG selection, yield assessments and due diligence activities.
  • Support the preparation and presentation of investment proposals.


  • You are educated to degree level or equivalent.
  • You have more than five years’ direct experience in the development, construction and/or operation of offshore wind projects with specific experience in wind energy yield assessment.
  • You have very good communication and reporting skills.
  • You are confident in providing technical advisory related to wind analysis to a range of technical and non-technical clients.
  • You are results-oriented, have the ability to take initiative, are self starting and make rational decisions, even when under pressure.
  • You have the ability to absorb and process often complex and potentially conflicting information and conduct critical and logical decision making.
  • You are fluent in the English language

Desirable skills

  • Specialist training in wind resource analysis and yield assessment.
  • International work experience is an advantage.
