Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the development of a strong, positive HSE culture within the Asset & Operations Management functions and ensure that there is always a focus on supporting, maintaining, and improving standards of HSE related to the scope delivered to site/project
  • Responsible for managing onshore/offshore Operations, BoP scheduled service and maintenance and on-site project management. This includes the management of Contractors / third parties and alignment with the Contract Manager
  • Responsible for translating Annual O&M Program into day-to-day and consolidated plans/schedules to maximise synergies and cost savings
  • Management of the execution of short- and long-term maintenance plans/schedules on a day-to-day basis
  • Support the O&M Manager to achieve the lowest possible yield loss
  • Create, deliver, and maintain processes for “way of working” and site management (e.g., manual for site management, OCC, jack-up operations, DPR, etc.)
  • Recommend technical, design improvements
  • Support the O&M Manager in providing regular technical / performance reporting to the CEO and project shareholders
  • Perform supplier/Contractor quality and HSE audits both on-site (including offshore inspections of Contractors) and off-site. (HSE Manager to train/support in proficiently performing these tasks and to lead the audits when the risk is particularly high).
  • Ensure the ramp up, training, and operational capabilities of the OCC acc. to the regulatory framework
  • (Lead) and participate in site toolbox talks and briefings when on-shift
  • Commence and participate regular site performance / problem-solving meetings and regular reviews
  • Ensure the status review and prioritisation of new safety, process, and reliability improvements for the site
  • Ensure continuous improvement of O&M plans and schedules, following PDCA principles
  • Support the O&M Manager in reviewing technical proposals received from project service providers (from both operational and business case perspective), challenge where required and provide summary information and recommended actions
  • Support the O&M Manager in managing operational elements of the day-to-day performance of all contractors and service providers and the compliance with their contractual obligations
  • Support in providing regular operational reporting (where required) to the CEO and shareholders / lenders
  • Carry out site inductions with new site staff or visitors as required (note that this refers to the presentation elements on-site, this does not refer to the sending out of links to induction material and e-learning etc.)
  • Create Risk Assessments as required (pull in HSE Manager support as required)
  • Support the Operations / Asset Management functions as required in the day-to-day management of a number of operational generating assets, including scheduling and controlling site works, reacting to emergencies, co-ordinating unscheduled maintenance and responding to network outages, site issues and faults and failures
  • Identify project risks, propose mitigating measures, and monitor on an ongoing basis
  • Develop strong relationships with clients, contractors, and service providers to maximize their performance
  • Contributing to the preparation of the monthly management reports, providing operational and HSE commentary
  • Liaison with other technical functions for inspections and operational reviews
  • Oversee operational training needs (e.g., IT tools, operational tools, asset access, OEM required trainings)
  • Ensure creation and delivery of internal operational processes and procedures (action log management, creation of reports and in general, “ways of working”)
  • Establish Operational KPIs (internal and external, i.e., for contractors)
  • Define and implement processes for site management (communication framework, jack-up operations, control processes, OCC rotation, DPR, weather downtime, procurement, etc.)
  • Create manual for site management (incl. key processes, communication framework, OCC, daily tasks, RACI with contractors, DPR, etc.)
  • Define concept and manuals for jack-up operations (insurance, documentation, contractor interface, HSE, etc.)
  • Create OCC rotation plan  O&M facility management (if required)
  • Support on Revenue and OPEX budgeting for operations level activities
  • Waste handling
  • Coordinate planned outages
  • Tools and PPE tracking
  • Operational and local stakeholder management
  • Technical emergency response procedure,
  • Electrical switching and safety rules (in coordination with the Lead SAP) Ensure:
  • That performance guarantees such as the availability warranty are met or exceeded
  • Health, safety and environmental performance is in compliance with the site HSE plan, the relevant Health and Safety standards, legislation and best industry practice
  • Low response times and effective execution of corrective and preventive maintenance, remediation of defects and technical resolution of equipment failures
  • “Ready-to-operate” OCC on time and budget.

Key Requirements:

  • +5 years’ offshore wind project experience
  • Technical/Engineering/Operations background
  • Offshore wind industry knowledge and understanding of best practice
  • Good communicator with proven ability to build sound business relationships and represent them in project meetings and presentations
  • Solid technical understanding of the full asset, Operational requirements, and logistics
  • Competent when dealing with quality standards, best practice procedures, technical specifications, and regulatory requirements
  • Tenacious self-starter, professional, organized and process driven
  • Able to work independently
  • IT literate (familiar with Microsoft Office & SharePoint; willing to learn and make full use of internal systems)
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Ability to establish, maintain and develop effective relationships.
  • Self-driven, proactive, and solution-oriented attitude
  • Experience of working in health and safety critical environments and to ensuring the establishment of HSE culture throughout the transition and operational start-up phase.
  • IT and presentation skills.
  • Background in Offshore EPC projects / operational start-up of offshore windfarms operations
  • IT competent within the Microsoft Office package with an ability to quickly learn how to use software tools.
  • Profound knowledge of operational processes in operational windfarms
  • Solid technical understanding
