Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor the SCADA systems, respond to alarms and situations as necessary including remote operations and resets
  • Control and monitor the High Voltage Electrical Systems on and offshore
  • Mange the release of plant and/or apparatus for work, testing, energization, and operation in accordance with Safety Rules
  • Ensure the HV system is operated to comply with the Grid Code and Project Safety Rules and procedures
  • Coordinate the implemented Safe Systems of Work (SSoW) and High Voltage (HV) Grid Control.
  • Conduct operational and safety switching duties, consent for the issue of Safety documents and coordinate / create switching schedules
  • Liaise with the National Grid Control Engineers and the issue of Safety/Operational Documentation in accordance with the Grid Code.
  • Coordinate / Operate and support the PtW system including activation and deactivation of work.
  • Enables safe transit and access to the assets to perform Operations and Maintenance. The Operations Control Centre (OCC) is responsible for executing vessel movements outlined in the plans and schedules and for vessel tracking, people tracking.
  • Central contact for Incident Reporting and Emergency Response Plan execution.
  • Perform other Marine coordination duties as per site requirements.
  • If required, monitor and control of the Wind Turbines Generators.
  • Be an active member of the safety team and gain full knowledge of the wind farms' emergency response plans and fulfil the control room's role in emergency situations.
  • Contribute to the development of a strong, positive HSE culture. Continuously ensure effective OCC operations to ensure safe and efficient offshore operations

Key Requirements:

  • Technical/Electrical Engineering/Operations background with qualifications
  • Minimum 2 years electrical experience and understanding of Electrical systems
  • Ability to work across multiple systems and processes, with varied and limited complexity
  • IT competent within the Microsoft Office package and Management systems with an ability to quickly learn how to use software tools.

  • Competent when dealing with quality standards, best practice procedures, technical specifications, and regulatory requirements

  • Relevant experience in a Control Room / Control Systems environment, preferably with an electrical focus
  • Marine / Operations Control Centre experience
  • Wind industry knowledge and understanding of best practice
  • Marine Management experience
  • Technical understanding of the full Asset (WTG, Cables, Onshore Substation, Foundations)
