As Balance of Plant (BoP) Engineer you oversee the mechanical, structural, and partly the electrical elements of the foundations (FOU), inter-array cables (IAC) and offshore substation (OSS) of our clients operating wind farms. In addition, you may also be asked to provide input related to such components for projects under development.
Close alignment with Site Management and the O&M team as well as other technical experts from the Engineering team is required to plan, prepare, and execute inspection, repair, and maintenance work on these assets.
Key Responsibilities

  • Technical contract management of BoP related O&M contracts, including contract tendering and negotiations with service providers
  • Technical project management of BoP related O&M projects
  • Responsibility for statutory inspection concepts and preparation of yearly inspection campaigns (according to ITP and BSH standard), as well as alignment with the certifying bodies for operational wind farms
  • Follow-up on technical issues, including planning and execution of offshore defect rectification campaigns.
  • Coordinating and managing of structural health monitoring and impressed current cathodic protection (ICCP) system at operating assets, reviewing reports, and following up on any findings in close collaboration with O&M and Engineering team
  • Issuing or supporting concepts for maintenance/repair/monitoring of the assets IAC, FOU, OSS
  • Optimizing and implementing maintenance strategies and processes
  • Providing input/feedback/comments on BoP related queries for projects under development
  • Supporting commercial evaluation for BoP asset related work and investments

  • Degree in Engineering or equivalent qualification in a technical field
  • Knowledge of project management
  • Relevant work experience in offshore wind would be desirable
  • Comfortable flagging problems when they arise and asking for help when needed
  • Ability to be proactive while working remotely or independently
  • Team player and strong communicator with internal and external parties
  • High proficiency in MS Office, especially Word, Excel, and Power Point
  • Fluent in German and English
