LSP have partnered with a leading Solar PV Developer in Europe to recruit for an exciting Head of Development position. This role will oversee the development of Solar PV projects in Italy, from conception to RTB stage.
Our client have been developing PV projects on a global scale since 2007 and have a development portfolio of almost 5GW currently.

Responsibilities:

• Definition of the strategy of the Italian branch together with the Country Manager and the Board
• Identify and evaluate opportunities for the development of new photovoltaic projects, carrying out market, competition and technical and economic feasibility analysis
• Manage the team responsible for permitting (technical and environmental area), together with the BD origination area, motivating them to achieve the set objectives
• Coordinate the design activities of photovoltaic systems, defining technical and performance requirements, working closely with the engineering, environmental and origination team
• Identification and presentation to the board of business opportunities based on new regulations, technologies and future implementations
• Present KPIs to the board on a monthly basis, on areas related to the progress of existing projects and the creation of new pipelines
• Establish relationships with regional, state and municipal bodies to create a relationship of trust and collaboration to achieve objectives
• Supervise the signing of land contracts, in line with development strategies, and with the management of connection requests
• Draw up an action plan for the next three years, including a development area budget to achieve the set goals
• Ensure the economic feasibility of projects, considering a constant update of the state of the energy sales market (PPA, Pool price, etc.)
• Participate in Project Services Conferences
• Effectively coordinate Due Diligence processes
• Collaborate with other business functions, such as legal, finance, sales, and marketing, to ensure the success of projects

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Energy, or a related field
• Previous experience in the management of photovoltaic plant projects, from the development phase to commissioning
• At least 3-4 years' experience in the area of PV plant development in Italy
• Knowledge of Batteries, H2, Wind, PPA and Project Finance are a plus
• In-depth knowledge of photovoltaic regulations
• Strong aptitude for problem solving and teamwork
• Excellent communication and leadership skills. Professional level of English
• Willingness to travel frequently throughout the country
