Reporting to the Senior Procurement Manager this is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced and motivated Procurement Manager to join our clients rapidly growing team and support the transition to a low carbon, sustainable global economy.
In this newly created role, you’ll work as part of a growing dedicated multi-disciplinary team to procure goods and services for the project.  The focus will be on the Service and Maintenance Agreement (SMA) for the project to facilitate the development of the project and progression towards Final Investment Decision. 
 
Main Responsibilities
  • Work within the procurement function for the project as a member of the Procurement Team, reporting to the Senior Procurement Manager.
  • Responsible for providing a comprehensive procurement service to deliver the SMA for the Wind Turbine Generators (WTGs).
  • Managing the negotiation of the SMA contract for the WTG package in consultation with the wider project team and shareholder’s category teams in accordance with best-value and approved procedures.
  • Developing the SMA information issued as part of the CfT to ensure a fully developed and ready to be awarded SMA
  • Leading the evaluation of commercial element of bids and co-ordinating inputs from the wider evaluation team (technical, legal, HSE) to inform down selection and appointment of the Preferred Bidder
  • Leading the negotiation of the commercial terms with the bidders and preferred suppliers to the point of FID and Contract Award
  • Delivering the SMA in accordance with the project program to support participation in the CfD auction and internal approval processes
  • Working closely with the internal team negotiating the Turbine Supply Agreement (TSA) to ensure the interfaces and commercial risks are appropriately captured between the SMA or TSA contract
  • Writing Downslection, Preferred Bidder and Contract Award Recommendations which will seek approval from the Project Director / Shareholders and the Project Board to award contracts.
Experience Required
  • Knowledge of and a proven track record in managing procurement activities from identification of requirements through to contract award. With knowledge and experience in the offshore wind market and specific experience of negotiating and / or managing a SMA.  This could be working for a developer or a WTG Original Equipment Manufacturer.
  • Ability to build effective relationships and be a team player at all levels both within the project and with suppliers.
  • Proven ability to communicate at all levels both written and verbally.
